First off, how will this move work when someone is pushing forward or backing up. Second, i first learnt this throw/move from Yakuza 0 when kiryu throws someone in his brawler style.
@EfficientJudo Жыл бұрын
Not all techniques work / make sense to use in every direction - using the right throw in the right moment is an important part of Judo. You can catch someone's retreat by taking a big initial entry step and perform the technique. Pushing forwards is dependant on their body position.
@Trsshpandasa78673 жыл бұрын
how dangerous would this be if its on concrete or a wooden floor?
@EfficientJudo3 жыл бұрын
Any throw onto a hard surface is going to make it more dangerous - but really its about uke hitting their head on the ground - if they hit their head onto concrete it could cause a serious injury. However you can't ever be certain that someone is going to be injured from a throw, in the same way you cant guarantee that someone would get knocked out by a punch. I don't subscribe to the idea that Judo + concrete surface = instant win.

@@EfficientJudoexactly. People hype throws too much. I still think that a good Judoka can finish a 1v1 fight with only one throw, but that's because a good Judoka will also know pins and submissions and will have a very good throw as well

I see people saying this is a basic takedown move But the thing is, It’s very easy to counter, You hold onto your opponent and give him a push under his leg and over your head he goes
@EfficientJudo14 күн бұрын
Its only easy to counter when its poorly perform, if done correctly, uke's posture will be broken backwards and they won't have the impetus to perform the counter in that manner.

Is that the appropriate way to brake fall? It seems like the arm hits the mat too soon and can potentially break
@EfficientJudo8 ай бұрын
Yes, this is a normal breakfall, you can see that Uke slaps the mat as they land - they are not posting with their hand or elbow.

Does size and force/ strength matter in this move

Force is a requirement in all moves, how much depends on your ability to off-balance your opponents. Osoto-gari can be a good throw against larger / stronger opponents.
