Greetings from southwestern PA. I beg to differ in one regard, after 50 years of splitting firewood, effortless and firewood don't belong in the same sentence. LOL. I'm currently using an Easton made 12/22 and a Super Split kinetic which I converted to electric operation. But I'm only splitting and cutting to heat my home. Hey, great job on the IBC tote mod. It's the best I've seen this far. Staywell stay blessed and stay safe. Shalom/gw

Just another thought. What if you were to dig a ramped pit so that the top of the IBC tote came level with the sorting table on the splitter? You could just slide the wood off the table into the tote and when it's full, lift it out with the tractor and put another one in it's place. BTW Excellent wisdom not arguing with Rachel. As my wife always asks me: "Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?"😊 Helpful hint: I apply 4% lidocaine cream on insect stings and it takes the pain away almost instantly. You can buy it over the counter at your local drugstore. Shalom/gw.

If we had a stationary spot for the splitter that we always split from, that would be a good idea. But we tend to move it around a lot. I'll have to pick up some lidocaine cream!

Love the tote mod. That's a great idea. I reckon I would put a 4 ft wide and 2 ft deep table or thereabouts table at the end of the discharge table so that things can be post sorted if necessary and it also gives a bit more storage room to get wood piled up before going into the tote.

Although I dont want to be the security police here but that splitter seems like a good way to get hurt, sorry. When activating the splitter it should require you to keep the handle, preferably 2 handles, pressed all the time and when you let go it retracts. Bending over the splitting table to get more logs whlie stretching out your arm, close to the activation lever, "carefooling" with the elbow... The splitter that I use does not move unless you keep two hands on two levers (well, one hand per lever 😊) I certainly hope that no accidents occur.
