Good video Heath. I’ve always been a Kubota guy, but have an intermittent fuel delivery problem on my L-Series that no one can figure out. That said, I’m ready to try another brand of equal durability. Think Kioti is probably my best option. 👍

I went to small on my first tractor. Little sub compact. I use it for ton stuff just didn’t have lift for lot things. This year I bought a skid loader. Now got best both worlds. It was important to me to be able to haul it in dump trailer. That’s why went skid loader over larger tractor

You did an excellent job of hitting all the important considerations. I might add, an item severely lacking in just about all the tractor brands is a serviceable tool box. As far as the mirrors go, they can be useful if, like I do, you mow long driveway areas or roadway borders, enabling you to detect traffic that you might need to be aware of. If you obtain the magnetic type, remove them when doing close quarters work.

Very good points. Several years ago I bought a Kubota (prior to Tier IV) very similar to what you have, but bad lungs made a cab necessary. My brother fabbed limb risers and other cab protection. I went with three rear remotes with TnT as well as third function valve. We have no Kioti dealer within driving distance, so.

Great video and good looking tractor. Would love to hear your thoughts on DPF / regen operations on the tractor. I have an older Kioti that has been outstanding but it was pre-DPF / regen. Thanks again and good luck with the new tractor.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors 2 ай бұрын
Thanks, no def on this one but it does have regen. My last Kioti had regen too. It didn’t do it too often as long as you kept the rpm’s up while operating. I personally despise the regen requirement but that’s out of my hands.

Good choice, I bought a NS5310 ROPS last year. Has been a great tractor and we are just coming up on 200 hours. Only had two issue. Once was when the loader got stopped moving we trouble shot it and finally realized our foot movement had worked the hydraulic speed adjustor to zero, rest that and back up and running. Second issue is annoying, the hood adjustment if just on the edge of workable, and the hood will open randomly while working with the tractor. We do both a lot of woodsy, stuff, had, and rock. So we too decided that while a cab was nice, buying a lot of cab doors would suck. I do wish I would have gone with the 6010 for the power. Also, love the hyrdro stat for working in woods and on hills. Very easy for the wife and kids to just hop one use productively. Been a great tractor so far.

I had mirrors on the tractor we had before getting the skidsteer. I broke one mirror off in the woods the 3rd day I had it, took the other one off that afternoon. Hey kieth. I had a nx55/10 cab with the electric over hydro transmission. What a nightmare. Then my dealer went outta business. Took it to another dealer for repairs. $7000 later they said the tractor was fixed. Nope! I ended up selling the tractor really really cheap. So glad I got rid of it. I have 2 other kiotis. Great tractors. After my dealer went outta business I bought 2 more kubotas. So far so good.

I take it, you have to be in rather big size, to have the option for a power reverser type transmission, no matter the brand now days? Basically allows forward to reverse without using clutch. Generally a shuttle shift, does require its use. . I find people that put well over 500 hours on a year, perfer them on a average. 0.01c

Brother, I have a Yanmar YT359C. It has mirrors on it. Tell you the truth,…I use those mirrors every time I drive that tractor. You get in a rhythm, and never look back while driving in reverse. Mine has the other type of third function. You press and hold a single button and it’s controlled by the dump/curl of your joystick. I prefer it over the two button because you can feather it as fast or slow as you want. Either way, I think you’ll enjoy your new tractor.

ANOTHER VERY GOOD SHOW, GANG A TRACTOR IS PRICELESS WHEN IT COMES TO WORKING WOOD, I HAVE A 1720 FORD 4x4 ABSOLUTELY VITAL TO ME AND MY FIREWOOD. JUST AS YOU SAID LOADER LIFT CAPACITY IS LIGHTER THAN I WISH IT WAS. BUT STILL SAVES MY BACK TREMENDOUSLY. I DON'T USE TOTES, BECAUSE CAN'T CARRY LOADED, ALSO REALLY NOT NEEDED THE WAY I DO MY WOOD. BUT IF IT COULD WOOD CHANGE HOW I WOOD DO IT. LOVE YOUR NEW TRACTOR, BUT THE FUEL TANK LOCATION, ALTHOUGH CONVIENT TO FILL, WOULD WORRY ABOUT DAMAGE FROM RUNNING OVER LIMBS AND STICKS AND KICKING UP AND INTO TANK AREA. THANKS AGAIN GANG, LOVE WHAT YOU'ALL BRING US REGULAR FOLKS! AND KEEPING IT REAL WORLD WOOD WORKING.

Hopefully those R14 tires work well. I think that might be what I would get if buying a new tractor today. In my opinion, I would take R1 ag tires in the woods over R4s any day. The R4s just don’t bite in and clean out well. They’re good on turf, sand/gravel, and pavement. They’re awful on snow/ice and not great in the field or woods or any soft ground. My tractor has been working in the woods for 42 years doings lots of things it wasn’t designed for and still has its original R1 rear tires. They’re badly weather checked, but surprisingly durable with tubes in them. Valve stems have failed and rims rusted from fluid, but no rear flats. It’s on its third set of front tires though! Those wear a lot faster and take a beating with loader work.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors
@hardworkingmanoutdoors 3 ай бұрын
Thanks, I couldn’t go with the R1 as I run it in our yards a lot and they’d tear it up way too much! Hopefully the R14’s work out.

Do you need brush guards on the low mounted fuel tank? I can recall numerous instances over the past 50+ years where "bumping" into trees, saplings, stumps, rocks, etc. happened to me in tight quarters... damaging the fuel tank would make for a bad day (maybe almost as bad as having the machine go up in flames due to a sparks and fuel mixture... ask me how I know. 😉}

60 hp is more than enough to do more than you could ever need to do. I think a farming tractor with a multi power shift is what I would opt for. That tractor should be more than you need. I'd like the shuttle shift vs the hydrostatic. More power to the 3 point and the drawbar.With the rear detente that's a plus. You could just get a 8 wheel articulated 200 hp tractor. 😂
