Calendula, I have near to the house it appeared itself through small variegated hedera field [0.5m-1m covered by hedera/ivy]. Though I am in zone 7b it lived and had beautiful flowers throughout winter and is flowering in the spring as well. I had it also on other places in the garden but they were gone with 1st frost. I planted some purple coneflowers at the edge of my house 15 years ago. Their descendants continue to multiply there. Blackeyed Susans are just as likely to self-seed. I'm hoping that my milkweed will eventually self-seed.

I planted many coneflower several year's ago too. But mine didn't come back up ..... the cow's got out & ate them 🙄

Hi there. I am hoping to have a front yard full of flowers that self seed time after time. I don't like noisy lawnmowers and I only see a few kangaroos that chew the cud. 🙃 in South Australia what would my zone rating be?

Just search ‘fox glove seeds’ then search ‘amaranth seeds’ etc etc … if you have issues to internet ordering … do a local search, such as ‘sea holly seeds for sale in (name of your area)’ … all these seeds are widely available online.
