This video shows how to effortlessly improve posture while sleeping for side sleepers.
I will walk you through the use of simple props to improve your sleep quality as a side sleeper.
After walking through some basic anatomy, I will show you how to use towels and a pillow to achieve the best sleeping position as a side sleeper and encourage restorative sleep. These tips for posture will keep your spine as neutral as possible.
By supporting the spine and avoiding twists in the spine, we can often alleviate pain while sleeping.

I listened to this video after I went to bed, got up and switched out my pillow for a towel and slept better than I have for a long time. I even dreamed, which is a rarity. Thanks for this, and I look forward to more videos.

thank you so much, i have scoliosis,reflux acid,sinusitus so i have so much difficulties sleeping. i hope good peoples like you gets whatever he/she wants in this horrible life.(at least it is for me like that after these diseases...)

I have kyphosis and wake up at least 10 times a night with an achy neck and shoulders, I've bought 2 new beds in the last 4 years, and exchanged 2 others, all of them are this horrible memory (sinking) foam. I will be buying a firm inner spring mattress tomorrow but these towels might help too. I am horribly sleep deprived and looking forward to using these towels.

Have you considered strength training for you posture to realign your body? Working at a desk or constantly sitting, causes rounded shoulders which creates that kyphosis. You probably have inactive lower trapezius and a tight chest.

The thing that sucks about being a side sleeper is I have to roll over every so often because one side starts to hurt after a while

The one thing about side sleeping that bothers me is what to do with the shoulder you're lying on. If you dont put it out in front of you, you crush it with your bodyweight. If you do put it out in fron of you, youre ingraining forward shoulder positioning and twisting. If you absolutely have to sleep on your side, what's the best position for the shoulder you're lying on?

great video again, thanks chris! is sleeping on my stomach bad? i rarely do but i do sometimes when my neck gets tired when sleeping on my back or side.

+Rio LA I think the better question is why does your neck get "tired?" Have you looked at your alignment? Do you have a neck injury? We can't always control how we sleep and occasional stomach sleeping isn't so bad. Not desirable long term for most people.

I'm sleeping on a tempurpedic adjustable bed. I can adjust it but at this point find the flat position best. I'm a side sleeper and I am trying to figure out how not to have so much pressure on my shoulder. I have almost every kind of pillow for my neck that I rotate depending on what my body finds comfortable. I also sleep with a pillow between my knees and one on top of me to rest my free arm on. Will towels work to support me on this type of bed? How can I get the pressure of my shoulder? I do also have a body pillow I might try again to prevent the twisting, I tend to roll the top leg forward. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!!

THanks I'll get towels out mow and see if I can do, I'm having shoulder n neck problems and got kyposis, and had ANV where my hip bone died n just got a hip replacement so trying to wrk different parts for now until I can exercise better. God bless I'm gonna subscribe

There should be a towel below armpit. Best to sleep in back.

physically impossible to relax body with stacked shoulders / hips in alignment because once your body goes limp you are naturally going to slump forwards or backwards.
