Thank you for this! I was trying to figure out why my 2015 Ural Retro would start (eventually) but would idle very slowly for about 10 seconds. It seemed like a fuel issue. Disconnecting the outlet on the fuel pump and running it for 30 seconds was what I needed! The bike is running just fine again!

You’re welcome. It seems to be a common problem but I didn’t find the answer I needed on the Ural chat forums so I thought a video might come in handy for the next guy that runs their bike dry.

Good info for 2014-2018 Ural owners... you can hate me for this... never have to deal with that on my Electrojet EFI Ural ever again got a 19, no need to prime... I'm BigJames on Soviet Steeds, it was THAT 2015 M70...Christine, the evil one, available at URAL NE...if you dare...

JamesAllmond Did they change the fuel pump on the 2019s?

@@lazy-pilot they changed everything in the EFI system. Fuel pump is in the tank now, Keihin throttle bodies do not need a snorkel (look it up and install if you have not already - see the GoneUraling folks video on it! May save you a large chunk of change!) like the ElectroJet ones do, o2 sensors moved, bigger cat, everything but the ignition system (as far as I know still Ducati). During the 2 1/2 years I owned the M70 it went through 3 fuel pumps, 2 engines (long story, one of the engines had nothing wrong with it, it was later found), 2 sets of throttle bodies and injectors (nothing wrong with the ones replaced it was later discovered), blew all the gaskets out of the front of the engine (and fuel pump 1) on the 1st long trip, all under warranty. In all fairness, some idiot somewhere between Irbit and the selling dealer did some bone head repairs that cause my ElectroJet EFi Ural to earn the name Christine. Replacing the coil the bonehead broke and glued a wire into allegedly fixed the problem, but I could no longer trust the bike. Know others who have had zero problems, it's a hand made vehicle, it happens sometimes. Just wish it had not happened to me. So far, 19 is quiet, smooth and fast - very un-Ural like... I am digging it! I hope whoever ends up with that miserable but damned good looking M70 has a better experience than I.

JamesAllmond I have installed the snorkels, the parts were free from the dealership and it’s not worth the risk. I will say that with the performance mods I have done that it has made a very significant difference but it will probably never be as precise as the new Keihn system. Between the K&N filter, EJK tuner, and a much better flowing GPR exhaust, the engine is now running up to my expectations. And it sure sounds great too!
