Our first run-in with the CK armourslice didn't exactly go well. Since then Garys had a lesson from Chris at @Cjrelectrical so we decided to give it another go.
The CK Tools armourslice is a handy electricians tool to score the armour around a steel wired armoured cable (SWA). It functions a bit like a plumbers pipe cutter, but with a short hacksaw blade instead of cutting disc.
A few turns around where you plan to fit the cable gland and the hacksaw blade partially cuts through the armour strands. Remove the outer cable health and waggle the strands to complete the job.
What do you think of this tool review?
Have you used the armourslice?
Do you have any useful tips to share when terminating SWA cable?
Comments always welcome.
