Sorry for the bad audio, Gopro audio isn't the best but I wanted people to figure this plane out because it's a good one and it deserves attention.

It’s always fun to get an edf that’s pushes your skill level. Speaking about where I’m at, not you of course. This is going to be a blast to try to land on our short runway. Thanks for the elevator tip. I know I’ll be maidening it with my finger CA’ed to the F switch. (Safe switch)

Just don't over corrected on take off or your wings will touch. make sure she taxis straight

@@jsean13 I’m adding a steering gyro. It’s come in handy with the Freewing Me-262.

The original nosewheel *and* the replacement I ordered both had phillips screws that didn't hold the wheel on straight. I ended up jamming a 2mm set screw into the phillips slot to avoid the nosewheel castering issue. I still haven't flown the F/A-18 since the incident I recorded - and this nosewheel really doesn't inspire any confidence in me, especially with how the stock set screw literally does not tighten at all. In fact, just rotating the nosewheel slightly causes the screw to shimmy and fall out. The mount around the screw is sort of cracked now, but at least it's holding up under high speed taxi testing. I'll take it up next time, for better or worse.

bro so I just realized I think the newer model comes with a plastic nose wheel setup, mine was all metal like the rear mains.

@@TwoBrosRC yeah man… I have flown both.. the FW is much easier to fly. I tend to trust Eflite more with brown outs… lost a few FW planes to brownouts, but I’m getting over it. Everyone will say pilot error which I have no problem owning if it’s my fault. My next FW plane will be the F-35, I want to covert it to the C model and put a 80mm in it

Thanks for the tips! I got my own eflite f-18 on the way right now so it’s good to know these two things before it arrives

Yes, make sure you she goes perfectly straight on the ground before take off. Adjusting the wire on the nose wheel servo is very easy.

That is a FMS jet . FMS makes most of the planes for Eflite

Had a similar problem with my Blue Angel version. There was no clear center line marking and a small adjustment makes a big difference. It seemed to me that battery placement made a big difference also.

Jeremy Sean, did you check out Gooniacs mod for the elevator stab linkage.... I'm doing mine soon... Ties the linkage to the servo horn so it can't pop off... Great tips, Ty and keeo flying!!👊

How many mm does the FMS 18 need on the elevator? You mentioned the eflight and FMS fly closely the same and that your plane needed 4mm. Any information is good, my F18 FMS is my first EDF. I have been asking all around for a pilot to help me out. I don’t really want a bad experience and your video has inspired me to at least narrow the margin for error down to the pilot. Thanks Curry in a hurry

Hey great video! I have been looking everywhere for someone who discusses the elevator setup on this plane. I asked both in RCG and Hobby Squak and nothing but crickets as I am guessing nobody knows LOL! I am using an HRB 6000mah which is about 100g lighter than your battery. Are you suggesting setting up the leading edge of the elevator at 4mm DOWN from the parting line just above the Marines sticker? Just trying to establish where I start from.
@jsean134 жыл бұрын
Exactly!!! 4mm down from the parting line!

You sound like you know something. I got a question, does anybody know why this jet takes forever to get off the ground. Or something wrong with my jet. I did not even get it to Launch,..... I can't tell in KZbin videos if it takes a lot of Runway till just launched or if something is wrong with my elevator. I have full throw though. Telling by your video he said it's hard to take out of a dive and I'm wondering if it's just hard to lunch because of that small elevator

How do I fix the elevator
@jsean134 жыл бұрын
Don't use trim to fix it... take the servo arm off the servo and move it back one notch on the spine of the servo.. and then trim it until you are 7mm below the middle fuse line. this bird is going to need up elevator to fly true. Otherwise this bird will dive and you will have to use a lot of throttle to land, which means a really fast landing.
@airbus737guitarcovers34 жыл бұрын
@@jsean13 thanks! But why can’t I use trim to fix it?
@jsean134 жыл бұрын
@@airbus737guitarcovers3 You will run out of trim and you will loose servo movement... plus you don't want to over extend your servo range.. moving the servo arm back one notch is super easy.
