This is something that can also happen with the first version of the Timber. It happened to me too!😂 If the large flaps are completely lowered during landing, they slow down the plane considerably, so much so that the risk is that it will descend like a stone. You need to gain experience, if there is a lot of wind it is better not to use the flaps or only use the take-off ones. I saw that many have modified the sign with dampened suspension, I think that too is a good idea, also because this version is even heavier than the first!!

Hopefully with the generous amount of epoxy I put on it's good to go.

@@waynesrc1958 Of course, do the test, that point is very stressed by landings, especially the more violent ones like the one you did.

That’s what happens with hard landings. Just think once you epoxy it back and you do another arrival, sorry, landing like that then it may pull a chunk out of the fuselage instead of just removing the gear . The smaller amount of glue may actually save the fuselage in case of a hard landing. As of this week I’ve had over 60 flights with my Super Timber with no issues on the landing gear ( so far !) but if I do knock it off I’ll re glue with four spots of superglue on the corners, so it can be sacrificial and help save the fuselage if landing hard. Nice flying by the way 👍🏻

Stuff happens Wayne, I reinforced mine after watching this video. Extra epoxy never hurts anything. I am sure you got that repaired already and will keep more air in the tires to keep the bead in place. I am like Jeff in Lower Alabama and am going to put Grand Tundra tires on mine so I do not have to hassle with the air tires each time I go flying this beast. Good video enjoyed the education.

Good flight Wayne . I saw this happen to someone else with this plane . Seems like not to enough glue. Glad you got it fixed up now .

Thank you Philip, yes very little glue, but there is now, epoxy that is.

$430 and this has been happening to a lot of these planes including mine. I wonder if Horizon is going to do something about it?

I doubt it, sure is lacking glue, epoxyed the snot out of it should hold up much better.

Same exact ting happened to Steffen RC. It's the HH/E-flite assembly standard for factory sparingly use of adhesive to attach parts. I found this condition among several Eflite planes when doing repairs on foam to plastic or foam to foam components. BTW-damage was totally out of frame on the hat cam view.
@waynesrc19582 ай бұрын
Mine defiantly needed more glue, I don't why they use it so sparingly at the factory. Have the same thing happen with my Freewing Jets landing gear ,pulling out on landings from the lack of glue.

This model Timber has now been out for a while. I've seen several YT videos where similar landings have resulted in the same gear damage as you've recorded. Ps. I'm still flying the original Timber 1.5. One Timber is enough for me.
@waynesrc19582 ай бұрын
I’ve seen a few videos also , hoping mine would be ok nope. I had the original Timber also gave it to my son in law and still flying. I guess Eflite will keep pushing them out as long as they sell😂

What did you use for glue? Mine ripped off after 1 landing.

I used 30min Epoxy, lightly sanded some of the paint off before applying the Epoxy. Also Epoxied the carbon fiber tubes in.
