Easy to toss into my back seat which is needed as bigger planes take up all the trunk space in my compact sedan. I ruined the front end in a crash and ordered a replacement fuse. Easy fuse replacement. I needed a new motor mount but I used a more powerful motor and a 40A ESC I had in my stash. Did not order a new cowl. BTW I like 4S 1800 mAh batteries for planes like this. Those batteries are about the same size and weight as a 3S 2200 but with more zip. I tend to prop down a pitch to slow the plane down and add vertical.

Pretty good video, like when I can actually see it flying. Mine arrived with really crap wheels, will have to contact Horizon. Looks good, but will require some work to make ready for flight. Not the "BNF" experience I expected.
@Thercgeek3 жыл бұрын
I’m sure horizon will get you sorted out. There’s always a little work in getting even a bnf flyable. Mostly in the radio programming, but better to be able to tune the settings than be locked into a pre-programmed RTF radio IMO.
@RichieRich9802153 жыл бұрын
I have this Plane and haven’t flown it yet. But the first thing I did is Change the wheels to 2” Du-Bro Skylight light weight wheels with Du-Bro Collars. The wheels on this Plane and a lot of the E-Flight planes are terrible. The tolerances are terrible. The hubs are drilled way big and there is no collars. So they move side to side and make a bunch of noise, which drives me nuts IMHO! To me for $10.00 it makes it a much better plane ✈️.

Hello RC Geek! I bought this Trojan T28 a month ago. (First airplane) I have level flight on 50% throttle, but it goes up (climb) when I go 100% throttle. Does it just need more down elevator trim or is it a other problem? I do not fly with spectrum transmitter and receiver, so I do not have SAFE or AS3X. Can you help me? Thanks for reply in advance! (Beginner Pilot)
@Thercgeek2 жыл бұрын
It probably is a trim issue. I would trim it at a higher speed and then see what it does at lower speeds for trim.

There is one huge design flaw if you buy this plane you need to check. Looking at the wiring to the motor. My wiring went through the wrong hole causing excess amount of wire around the motor. The wiring insulation will be rubbed off

Hi Greg My name is Simon.Really enjoy your channel.I’m new to the hobby and I’m absolutely loving it.I’ve just purchased the Eflite T28 .....really enjoying it. Chris I have a question for you regarding the Eflite PT-17 .The plane seems way to heavy even without the battery and I just knew there was going to be a problem. It only just managed to get off the ground. I landed it safely but something is not right. I held the PT 17 in my left hand and picked up the T- 28 in my right hand. The PT 17 was double the weight of the T-28 . It’s ridiculous.....no wonder it struggled to get off the ground. Just don’t understand.Hoping u can advice on this. Regards Simon
@Thercgeek3 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a power issue to me. I’ve seen the pt17 fly and it didn’t seem to be lacking for power. How many cells are you using? Keep in mind that there’s quite a bit more going on with the pt17 vs the t28, so I would expect it to be heavier.
@simonpells74053 жыл бұрын

Are the aileron leads independent? I was wondering if you could set up flaperons on this model.
@Thercgeek2 жыл бұрын
They can be set that way, but I just used a y-harness. In all honesty though, I’m not sure flaperons are going to give you what you’re looking for. The ailerons are focused mostly at the wing tips and cambered them like flaps are going to result in tip stall issues. Maybe try spoilerons instead?

I’m torn between this and the RV 7. Which would you get and why?
@Thercgeek3 жыл бұрын
You know, I haven’t flown the rv but it looks like a fun little ride. I don’t think you could go wrong with either one. The rv offers a little more scale fidelity to the t28, so I’d probably lean towards the rv due to that.

I have just transitioned to this model, as my first low wing airplane....I have flown it on 3S only, and the guys at the field warn me not to fly very slow because it will stall....is stalling this aircraft, when turning at low speed something it does, as I haven't experienced it yet...thanks
@Thercgeek2 жыл бұрын
Well, all aircraft stall, it’s just a matter of at what speed. This model has a very large speed envelope and will slow down really nicely and has a pretty benign stall. The key is to understand if you’re getting too slow in the turn and to add some power when you see it getting slow. I’d recommend getting the airplane up high and performing some power off stalls to understand how slow it can go and what happens when it does stall. Do the same in some turns too and that should really help guide you in what the airplane can handle.

@Thercgeek2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it’s fun on 4s. For landing, the airplane will really slow down, but requires getting the nose up a touch and then controlling the descent with the throttle. It doesn’t take much throttle, but it’ll really slow down that way. Otherwise, I you’re trying to glide it in, it’ll end up hot every time.
