I want to make it concrete, but I want to make it thin, so it's cheap...not sure if I can do it...we need the room for hay production, and don't want to hamstring ourselves for when we go FULL SCALE either... trying to make the right moves, so we don't piss away too many $1000's of dollars along the way...don't mind spending the $1000's, but want it to not be in haste. I suspect you get it.

There's so much room why aren't you always flying there!? And I appreciate the technical information, learn a ton from your channel. Edited little short videos are all the same and I think most people are here for the information and to see the planes. Production quality is just fine, better footage than almost any of the other things I've seen on youtube!

We can't all year round since the hay gets pretty tall...okay for a sailplane, but smaller planes like this might not take as well to the taller, firmer grasses we grow back there, but for a few more weeks, it'll be clear. At some point, I will be making some more clearings in the woods, as we remove the invasive Honeysuckle out (There's a TON of it!!!) so I have some fun ideas for making middle ground to make it quicker to get back there too. We'll definitely share if this becomes a reality. We also need to make another bridge for quicker access over where our first "Man Bridge" was...which fell down after a storm...it was pretty crappy to begin with, and we built it before we owned this land - LOL!

I've noticed there seem to be three types of people associated with learning from mistakes: 1) Those that have the ability to learn from others mistakes. 2) Those who can learn from their own mistakes. 3) And finally those who never seem to learn at all. Love the unedited format. Everybody else spends a lot of time and effort to cut and splice to look good. What you do is complete and up front. It’s really helpful for the low time RC hobbyist to see all that detail complete with fumbles and false starts. Thanks for all you do. You have been a huge help.
@BrianPhillipsRC
@BrianPhillipsRC 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tom! I fear the "false starts" will eventually turn people away, but I think it's a fair tradeoff to show what REALLY happens when flying to a newb... However, we want to show how amazing these planes CAN be if given some time to flourish too, and I think we do this. It just comes down to keeping people watching, and so far the consensus of those responding has been that they like the long format. Glad you're here with us, and thanks for the feedback!
@GoofballFlyer

@@BrianPhillipsRC you have created a unique format that a lot of us appreciate. 100k subscribers endorse the format but you can’t make everyone happy. I like the fact that if you just want the RC Sayler kind of review just watch the first 10 minutes then for the setup details watch the rest. If people don’t want the details they don’t need to watch. Your details on radio programming saved me hours reading manuals and trial and error. It was daunting wading back in after so long away. I found you by Google search on Carbon Cub setup. Thanks to Team Phillips for sharing your time and skills!

Don't get the V1200 if this one meets your fancy...I prefer it for a few reasons.... 1) Visibility. 2) Retracts call for PERFECT landings every time on the V1200, and it's FASSSSSST down the runway. 3) Rollout is about 3 miles on the V1200 - LOL. 4) Size is BETTER small. It feels every bit as CRAZY FAST too...so nothing lost. 5) Cheaper batteries on V900. BUTTTTT...if you love the V900, you'll probably love the V1200 too. You know what you can do to reduce wiring inside the battery compartment you install the Y harness inside the wing it makes installing it much easier.You cut a square hole in the top center section and bury the Y harness than there no chance of the wiring getting in the way of installing the wing.Plus it's a good idea to install a plywood hard point where the rear wing bolthole is.Just so you can't crush the foam over time.I did a lot of additional rework to my V900 since I'm an experienced model builder of traditional balsa aircraft.I even epoxied the stabilizer on in addition to using the screw included.My plane is slightly heavier but much stronger.I travel for work so my plane is always in the car ready to fly.I even repainted all the orange using testers paint and painted the spinner to look like the original V900.

I really enjoy how you go into detail about each aircraft you review. For build and flight review, you are the best! I have a V900 and a V1200. Honestly, I prefer the V900 hands down.

Why? Is it okay on 3s? I'm thinking about buying one but worried the belly landings will age it quite quickly....
@benlindsey8082
@benlindsey8082 Жыл бұрын
@@PiggoNZ The V900's belly is beefed up quite a bit and is designed for belly landings. It has a plastic skid plate on the belly. You are correct, it does age the bottom of the plane a little, but its not bad at all. It is common to break a prop on landing as well. They use an 8x8 E prop and are a couple dollars to replace. I have the motor brake set up so when the throttle is closed, it keeps the prop from windmilling. On landing it helps save the prop. On 3s it can still move pretty quickly at full throttle. It cruises very nicely at slower speeds as well. What I enjoy so much about this plane is the simplicity and gentle nature of flying it. It is quite forgiving at low speeds and at the same time very fast as well. It's easy and a lot of fun to fly. I Highly recommend this aircraft!

Helpful hint: Install your packs sideways (narrow side up) with the main leads on the top and toward the front. I put a small piece of 220 grit sandpaper on the wood tray bottom via hot glue to keep the battery (SMART G1 and G2 packs) from sliding around while strapped (bulky but nice strap). Tuck the battery leads up towards the ECS to get them out of the way. Hatch fits much better this way.

My buddy flys parasails, and he had the unit to clock how fast his parasail is. I was lucky it fit in the Fun Jet at with the 2, 3 cells I was running in parallel.
