For Buddy: I think the "toastie" name comes from a mix of things. 1. Toastie was a hidden feature in the Mortal Kombat arcade game (around the time Thorsten was growing up) and if he played a lot of pool, chances are he played some video games too. A little picture of one of a guy popped up and said in a funny voice, "toastie" and the expression kind of crept into popular culture. At least where I lived. 1. Thorsten/Toastie sounds a bit similar so that might have helped. 3. If it has a connection to pool then it might be something to do with him toasting anyone he played =). Just guessing, but you'd have to ask toastie to find out.

Why would Efren play @ 100%? No need for it. He has proven and won everything that there is to prove and win in pool. And a bit tired maybe aswell. But that is normal,no? He still is the best. If he wants he will play like he 'used to'.

lol do you have your own cue? It happens very often when you chalk, chalk dust gets onto your bridge hand and obviously over thousands of strokes and practice strokes it smudges onto your cue shaft. It's quite normal for any cues that have been used for extensive periods of time.

I always clean my cue and I would imagine the pros do also so I just didn't think they would stain like that. I thought maybe some specific shaft maker did it on purpose like a trademark or something.

I HATE pool commentators.. They're worthless and ruin the whole experience of just watching the match and analyse things yourself. Muting the sound is also not an option. I like to hear the actual play itself.

A good announcer tries to see what the player is looking to do not what he Ken thinks the player should do this, we could care less what he thinks a player should do.

Magicracks suck unless you get a new 1 every few days with this type of competition. They get worn out and it takes too rack the balls. Commentators really don't help the coverage that much either.

Exactly, Chang scratched during break. Opponent has ball in hand but he needs to shoot from the kitchen and may not shoot an object ball that is behind the baulk line. Having said that, Reyes made a legal foul while he played his very first game shot.

I'm almost certain that CSI has noticed the NUMEROUS amount of comments directed towards Ken, on almost ALL of their videos. I just don't know why they don't do anything about it. Doesn't bother me either. Even after hearing these complaints on every single video I have never been distracted by whatever they are talking about. Meanwhile I enjoy the speculation about what to shoot. Ken often gets it right. It provides alternate possibilities that may make you think differently about the game. There is never only one way to play a rack and almost always alternative ways to shoot a single shot.

At 1:35:58, why is Chang is being an idiot by NOT sinking the 10 in the left corner FIRST? This poor planning means he'll have to travel back to the 10 later. So instead he hits the 9 in first, then 11, and so on. So now at 1:37:00 he can't easily play the 8 ball in because he's trying to figure how to get back to the 10 ball which he should have already knocked in! His stupid planning put massive distance unnecessarily between back & forth shots. (yes, I could have kicked his ass)

Why do they often use that awful triangle(even if it is a mobile one) to rack the balls? Even in professional events?...It changes the direction off the ball when it's not at high speed and sometimes it can also not be removed due to balls sitting on it. Why don't they use that perfect rack machine? That plexi glass one where you have to push the balls on the table? It is a perfect rack each time. Otherwise when one player racks for himself or his opponenent he can lay them in different ways that are an advantage for him or a disadvantage for his opponent.Is it because the sponsors have a deal with the triangle guys? Could well be,i see no other reason why they should use something like that.

Keeping the balls on the cloth creates dent on table in long term and you can see why you can't rack balls perfectly on a bit old clothes. The dent is due to break that puts a lot of pressure on first three balls which are forced into the table.

Can't believe these two who are calling the game. It's an 8-ball championship and they sound like they're on valium at the corner pool hall.
