Your children share these Efteling memories with literally every Dutch child. And you with every Dutch parent who take their family to Efteling for the first time. Of course, they went as children. So it is quite likely that you will visit it with your grandchildren.

Villa Volta was actually the very first madhouse of its kind, it was the prototype. ;)
@JustLetTerenceExplainItАй бұрын
I don't agree with that. I keep reading this, but I would say it's the first big expensive and immersive madhouse. Because there used to be a tiny version of this concept in Bobbejaanland. It was a small and cheap house, almost looked as if it were made from cardboard. The inside was a painted interior. There were two small benches in a cage, people faced each other. The house spun in one speed, first in one direction and then the other. The bench would sway back and forth. And I can tell you: as cheap as it was, it was more effective than any modern madhouse I've been in. It didn't make you dizzy, but it was sometimes unclear which way you were swinging. At some point, Bobbejaanland demolished it. When Villa Volta came, my first thought was 'Oh, it's a fancy version of that ride in Bobbejaanland'. 😀 You can see it in this video. exactly 6 minutes in: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i53Cl3yvhZeJndU

Good to see you and your family had a great time at the Efteling. I have 3 vids I hope you will like. First, an animation of how villa volta (which due to the music and stongness of the illusion is a favorite of mine) works. The benches only move aprox 15 degrees in both directions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pX-zo5mfZZd_gKMsi=Sbdgp_0Kbm8yprOV Second, in winter the park is transformed to "the winter efteling". All sort of light shows and projections on to buildings. Here's the Villa Volta winter efteling show: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2asg2CffqerrbMsi=T053Csm264EKgHmn Third, a backstage tour of Villa Volta: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJ_HiJ1pp7Snl68si=NxhxPb9hIxKdub7w Hope you and your family enjoys. Nice vlog. The steam carousel 26:02 dates from 1895 and traveled to fairs in the Netherlands before coming to Efteling. You can actually compare Antonpieck as our Walt Disney. Antonpieck himself sat in this steam carousel as a child, which is why it is now in Efteling. The carousels on Antonpieck square are very old. One of the carousels is the Vermolen carousel, 23:22 dates from 1865 which is the oldest working carousel in the world. it is simply wonderful that Efteling protects this heritage. The steam trains are also real and were previously used in coal mines here in the Netherlands and Germany.

If you want to see all 31 fairytales in the fairytale forest, it is important to follow the red path. Efteling started this in 1952 with 10 fairy tales in the fairytale forest and a playground. There is also a house in the fairytale forest of Mother Holle, 50:22 where a family went into hiding during WWII and lived there for a few years.

I recommend staying in the resort next time. You get earlier entry (included on all days of your stay in the price) and it is a beautiful way to extend the magic. It is very good value for money, especially because there are family rooms and cottages. Also a tip: have lunch on the gondoletta (we usually have a take away from the toko outside the pagode, or sandwiches, which are also popular with the ducks) And have poffertjes at De Poffertje (little Dutch pancakes). The children portion is the best deal, and you get a souvenir plate with it too.

Hi, if I may say…you did go on the sweet spot of the summer season, I also did go around 26 of august… the reason you had no cue line is because in the Netherlands the part you were in south holland, children already started school… so the only visitors to the park are Belgians, and far north Dutch people… also others from around Europe. I say sweet spot, because the park is open till 21:00 changes in September to 18:00 (weekends 20:00) So for your next visit try to do this again last 2 weeks of august ;) Maybe you knew, otherwise take it in for next visit Nice video made! I also applause you to be a smart visitor, uses all possibilities with the child swap, also virtual cues, the fairytale Forrest you entered the real beginning entrance , not the side entrance. Only your kid would loved the “oude tufferbaan” the track with the cars, also pedal trains… the snale monorail at land van laaf…. And you missed some houses over there… or you just not filmed everything ;) Next year you have new unique ghosthouse to go to. I glad you respected the older attractions aswell…

Villa Volta: Pre show 1 The myth tells us that this devilish army of Buckriders found its end in a gruesome battle, high in the heavens above the Postel Abbey. Sixty long years the gang carried out a reign of terror over the rural population. Their satanic guild sign; a bucks foot, made everyone shudder and filled them with fear .... Jonge Peer: Cursed art those Buckriders, the parasites of this region and their Hugo in particular. Marie: He’s a godless troublemaker that Hugo. With his long black mane, he’s like the Devil’s twin. When he's around your life is in peril. Woman 2: Not to mention your house and home. Marie: Even the bolts before the portcullis can’t stop him. Woman 2: Oh lord, who could deliver us from such tormentors. Jonge Peer: A blasphemous bandit that’s for sure but remember: Pride comes before a fall Man 2: That may be, Jonge Peer, but for now he does not care. Marie: Even as a young one he was no good. Always going against the authorities. You saw it coming even then that he would become a ne'er-do-well. Hear the story of Hugo, Hugo van de Loonsche Duynen, who joined this mean pack of robbers. A man without compassion, possessed of an unbridled greed, and lust for money. Hugo, the Buckrider! Pre show 2 (told by Hugo) This house, this cursed house ... Hell, hath found its equal. That one cursed evening in the Belgian Campine ... The sun was low, and we sought beds for the night but found no trace of villages. But suddenly, in the distance ... a great building. The Postel Abbey, we knew. We brought the horses to gallop, and when the sun set, we arrived at the chapel. There was light behind the windows, and it was deathly quiet. No monks chanting or pious mutterings. Behind the chapel door, gold cups and silver candlesticks for the taking, hahaha! With this in mind we rammed the door! No one .... The altar sparkled with its spoils. The candles were lit ... strange. My men cracked open the offertory box, and I myself emptied the altar. And then, suddenly, a slender hand appeared on my shoulder. I looked around, and behind me stood a young woman, her eyes ablaze. All saw her, and the clinking of gold and silver ceased. She seemed ... to float in her long white dress. For a moment I felt something like fear, and she spoke to me: "You, Hugo van den Loonsche Duynen, thou desecrate here this house. So repent and seek not to call the Lord's wrath upon you ....' But I, I overcame my fear, dismissed her with scornful laughter and shoved her away roughly. I called for the men to leave and saw that she dissolved into nothing ... A day later, I reached my house. I was shocked; atop the facade stood...SHE! The lady from the chapel Her arms waved as if swaying in the wind. I heard her voice, as if it were floating in my head: "Nowhere in your own home, nor anywhere in the world shall thou find rest or peace, now that thou hath violated God's house ... only when a noble person with the clean conscience of a newborn child will enter your dwelling, shall thou find peace in your home and in your heart .. That curse, my gruesome fate, so far has not been broken ... Enter with a pure soul, so that the doom may fall from this house, and my soul can acquire the rest, which I so greatly desire .....
