🌈❤🧡💛💚💙💜 I am one VERY satisfied customer of Signature Solar. I live off grid in a small house, and my first inverter was an 8K that gave me many issues. Signature Solar staff and tech support were amazing. Knowledgeable, patient and they helped me to troubleshoot the issues involved even though I started from knowing zero about Solar Electrical Systems. When it became clear the inverter was faulty, they stepped up and allowed me to replace it with the 6000XP inverter featured in this video. What an amazing and efficient inverter. I now have virtually all of the 110/220v power that I need to heat, cool and run all my electrical needs. Signature Solar was completely accountable for seeing that my issues were resolved and leaving me with a great inverter. Thank you Signature Solar for your great support, great company, and great customer service staff.

@@SignatureSolar Just a recommendation that would make the installation process a little simpler. If you could provide ferals for the fine stranded DC cables. I believe it would make a more secure connection for the lugs on the 18K.

It is NOT more cost effective than the Riuxu 48V 314Ah (16kWh) wall mount battery for $3K US. Not sure how long till they have their UL certs (they say soon), but when they do... Main things both batteries are missing is a good active balancer and class-T fuse.

I just saw a video of the RUIXU battery yesterday. Not sure if it is outdoor rated but even if it is not it will at least provide some extremely healthy competition to the indoor EG4. I see major price cuts in the near future.

Can you mount this sideways if you don't have the height?
@SignatureSolar
@SignatureSolar 3 ай бұрын
We do not recommend this. The best orientation is either flat on its back or standing up to avoid any cell shifting or other issues.

Why wasn't the black negative power cable from the 6000xp attached to battery number two? it is important to load balance the charge and discharge of the batteries. with 600 amp bus bars that would be the correct connection.
@jsauerii
@jsauerii 3 ай бұрын
The bus bar in each individual battery while internal are separate and large enough that they are the same as if you ran both batteries to an external bus bar above them and then from that bus bar to the inverter.

Correct if you can always run negative negative to one battery and positive to the other

I appreciate the video and have a couple of questions. You advise turning the inverter breaker on then turning the inverter power on, and then turning the battery breaker and power on. Without the battery being turned on first, does it make sense to turn the inverter on? How would you know it's on since it wouldn't have power from battery yet? Does this assume power from grid? If the system is off-grid, should the battery be turned on before the inverter is powered up? I am paralleling three EG4 batteries to a Magnum inverter, which is not supported so I won't have communication between the inverter and batteries. I am trying to confirm the communication cable port locations for the three batteries. Is this correct? Master battery - Comm Port Second Battery - in from Master at Battery port, Out at Comm Port to Third Battery Third Battery - in at Battery Port.
@SignatureSolar
@SignatureSolar 8 күн бұрын
The reason you turn the inverter battery breaker on first is to limit inrush current for the battery's built in Pre-charge resistor; not doing this will often create a short at the inverter's battery input from high inrush. No need to run any communication cables at all, even between batteries, if they aren't going to communicate with the inverter.
@frankenstake
@frankenstake 8 күн бұрын
@@SignatureSolar Thanks much, that makes perfect sense! I was wondering why batteries in parallel would need to have communication since the parallel arrangement in itself should keep them balanced. Now, if I could just get the batteries to arrive, I'd be in business! Thanks again!

Hi Kelly, would it make sense to connect the inverter battery leads to both batteries instead to just 1 battery? (so that all batteries are the same distance to the inverter). Example: Connect inverter negative lead to battery 1, and positive lead to battery 2, then parallel the batteries with the paralleling cable as per usual?
@SignatureSolar
@SignatureSolar 29 күн бұрын
Hi! -With 2 batteries - you can parallel them to each other and then run the cables from the master battery (the PowerPro has a 600A internal busbar that will allow this to happen successfully. Server racks or more than 3 PowerPros with a singular inverter, we recommend using an external busbar.

I already have 5 rack mount 5kwh batteries hooked up to a EG4 6500 hybrid inverter/charger. I want to eventually buy another eg4 6500 for 240vac for charging an EV. I presume that I should just hook up a wallmount 14.5kwh battery to the second eg4 6500, not parallel all the batteries?
@SignatureSolar
@SignatureSolar 3 ай бұрын
If you add a second 6500 in parallel, they absolutely have to share the same battery bank

Ok so I have two of these now. Which part number do I need to correctly terminate the included wire so I can connect the two together? Thx!
@SignatureSolar
@SignatureSolar 3 ай бұрын
You shouldn't have to terminate anything. The communication cables between the batteries will be a straight through CAT5/6 cable, and it will run between Bat/Com ports on each battery

@@SignatureSolar Sorry I meant BATTERY cable. they come with a Degson connector on one end, unterminated on the other end. Each battery came with 2 of these thick cables, and I don't want to buy another set "paralleling kit". So I'm using some basic awg0 splicers until the new degson ends show up. Thx

Hello- do the 2 batteries need to have the same SOC before we parallel connect them?
@SignatureSolar

It is always best to have your batteries as close in SOC as possible
