I am 28 years old and currently have gone through Egg retrieval. At first i didn't feel any pain or discomfort. But after the egg collection day, i started feeling nausea and bloating which was a mild symptom of OHSS. it's been more than 7 days my symptoms have changed to a server OHSS even after taking prescribed medication for 7 days. Since yesterday I am again on the another recovery phase with an injection to ease symptoms of severe OHSS. This has been the most difficult part of IVF but I will surely get over it.

Haha! I just had my egg retrieval done few days ago in Denamrk. A total different story, for them it is just like an ultrasound... you arrive at the time of procedure, you go inside undress, jump on the bed, the room next to you have the embryologist and the procedure it is done by a doctor and a midwife . You will get a small anestisia in the vaginal wall and they start the egg retrieval. For me it was extremely painful... they had to stop 3 times because I've almost passed out from the pain... the whole thing lasts 10 min. I wasn't able to work after and I had pretty bad cramps 3 days after... All my good thoughts to everyone going through IVF, it's such a heavy treatment physically and physically. ❤️

That's crazy! I just had mine done. Was put in twilight sleep. Injected with a sedative, felt woozy, next thing I was waking up and they said it was done. Pain was like mild period cramps when the painkillers wore off

Ihope you dont go to that facility ever again. Cos as far as iknw egg retrieval is always done under general anaesthesia. You cant feel a thing. If you did not get knocked off , they are not good doctors. I cant imagine how u went thru the procedure

These eggs retrieval cramps are terrible. Just did it yesterday, and I could barely stand or bend. It hurt to sit down and use the bathroom. Make sure you have some Ibuprofen ready. It’s day 2 post retrieval, and I still have pain. Good luck ladies!

I may need to travel to another country for egg freezing and planning the dates can be tricky due to work commitments. Is it better to have oral contraceptive pill or hormone replacement therapy to regulate the cycle so that the egg retrieval can be done on a convenient date?

Hi doctor, recently I went through egg retrival. I had few concerns about it. Firstly my eggs were retrived on day 19. I tookmy Trigger shot 36 hours prior egg retrival . But my last scan doctor did was 60 hours prior to my trigger injection. When egg retrival was happening I felt to much pain I was not asleep or dizzy. I was in pain. There were 7 follicles but they only retrived 2 eggs. My question is I m worried that I wax ovaluted before egg retrival because there wS no examination 48 hours prior trigger. And proper examination before egg retrival where you can if patient is already ovsluted and cancel the procedure. I found your video helpful please comment.

What clinic did you go to? Do it at carl von linne clinic in uppaa Sweden. I did yesterday. They got 26 eggs out. 23 mature to freeze

How many cycles do you recommend for pts with low ovarian reserve?

Wouldn't that be age dependent? If you look for 'fertility journals' on KZbin, Kay had diminished ovarian reserve and did 12 cycles of mini ivf at the age of 43.5. She had a lovely little boy as a result and still has a frozen embryo left over. She's fortunate. I know of 2x 34yo women who have done 3-6 cycles of ivf and it didn't work. It's really just one of those things but the younger you are the better the egg quality in general. Hope all goes well x

So I was doing ivf,after my egg retrieval doctor told me to take rest for one month and after second day of my periods to visit her, so now my periods are 5 days late To much pain on my left side mostly abdomen pain . So I visit to my nearest hospital they told me that my right ovary size 10.10 mml So because of that you have pain and then urine infection But when I contacted with my ivf doctor about my situation she told me that it’s seems fine to her just follow the doctor prescription But I don’t know what I have to do like why it’s happened and then when embryos can be transferred 😕 Plz advise me and sorry English is not my first language so i hope you will understand what I want to tell u

Depends on amh level. Older women might produce a lot of eggs but the quality is better in a younger patient.

I’m not sure why yet but my egg retrieval day (this past Sunday) was VERY painful. I woke up at 2am wailing in pain and couldn’t walk. I managed to make it to the 7 am appt but I thought I was near death. I had to wait until after 8 for the anesthesia. When I got home and the anesthesia wore off the pain was the same and they only gave me Tylenol. It was a nightmare. I hope I never have to do another egg retrieval.

The exact safe thing happened to me, right at 2:00 am. It was the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced. They did give me pain medication when I got to the clinic. My recovery was tough too, I could barely use the bathroom afterwards. It took me a whole week to get better. I hope that things went well for you! I was so relieved to read your comment because no one else mentions this in any other videos.
