Would like to share my experience because it may help other women in their mid-30s. This is my 2nd time undergoing egg retrieval and preservation. 1st time was when I was 31yo and 7 eggs were retrieved, and had my 2nd egg retrieval a week ago saving 11 eggs at 35 yo.I may not have been able to retrieve a lot of eggs but I was able to obtain higher AMH value this 2nd time around, and save more eggs after 4 years apart due to lifestyle changes, nutrition, and physical exercise. Was def under a lot of high stress, not eating or sleeping as well in my early 30s, this time around after 4 years I've gotten better at taking care of myself, eating healthier, sleeping more, and taking vitamin B complex and vitamin D supplements which my ob/gyn highly recommended the first time around. My doctor was quite surprised herself to see that my AMH value did not decrease over 4 years but actually increased. Wish I had found your video beforehand. Had no pain or discomfort during the whole process. However, I am def having a lot of water retention/ swelling (4-5 kg in water weight, my physical body is def bloated) since the retrieval and I wish the medical team and doctor would have voluntarily given me a heads up and educated me on why this is happening and when it will dissipate (after the next menses). Had the same water retention problem the first egg retrieval but I forgot about it. Thank you for your video!

I’m 38 and had my egg retrieval today. I have endometriosis and a large fibroid tumor. They retrieved 28 eggs. I came out of it in horrific pain and crying. They gave me pain meds. I was already at risk for OHSS so they only did a Lupron trigger. All of that being said I made a good choice and I would do it all over again. Life is beautiful and worth fighting for! ❤

As a doctor who just had post egg retrieval day 5, i struggled a lot of abdominal discomfort and felt that lots of white eggs (21 g for dinner) kinda ease the unexplainable discomforr. I guess coz of the high albumin intake helps the leaky water to comes back ? And less ascites ? I dunno … i just feel lot better. Just in case anyone has the same problems. Good luck!

@@suzywolf5143 unfortunately we were unlucky with the first round (2 Day 5 blastocysts of average grade for fresh implantation, 3rd blastocyst stopped growing on day 4). Was heartbreaking at the moment but a few months on, looking at another IVF cycle this month. The trick I guess is to ensure you talk it out with your partner how many cycles you are able to manage as a couple without it destroying a relationship and still being able to have fun and fulfilling life. It's tough. But good things come to those who wait :)

I’m 34, have PCOS, and had 24 eggs retrieved along with a cyst that the surgeon was able to diffuse. I’ve been in a LOT of pain the past 48 hours and was concerned about OHSS. Saw my doc again today and he prescribed me tramadol bc the keterolac wasn’t working for my pain mgmt. Turns out tramadol works and I’m feeling a LOT better. Still extremely bloated and my tummy is tender. It’s hard for me to bend over. But now I can actually work from home.

@4everT187 so I ended up in hospital with mine unfortunately I caught and infection we think from.the egg retrieval date, I got more and more tired and then got fevers and sick. I was rushed to A+E given antibiotics by IV and stayed in hospital for 3days, they diagnosed me with ohss there too. Bit annoyed at my clinic who everything I rang them said it's normal to feel tired. This was like next level tired tho. I found eating salty foods helped with my ohss as ot helped with the fluid displacement. Please get checked for ohss and double check you havnt got an infection xxx

I just completed my 3rd retrieval yesterday. My question (which no one is talking about) is... why arent all my eggs being retrieved during retrieval and how "normal" is that. Its happened during every single retrieval i have had. They say my overies float up high and they cant get to them safely. So, apparently, I'm a difficult retrieval... but yet they dont plan to and actually have refused to do the retrieval laparscopically. So for instance, this last cycle, I had 44 total eggs but they only got 11. Its frusterating for me as a patient because Im doing my part but all my eggs/follicles arent being retrieved so its a huge let down when I wake up and am told that every time but they refuse laparscopic surgery. Thoughts? P.s. they also, refuse to diagnose me with OHSS but they admit theres fluid "leaking" but never give me a reason or use the term OHSS.

I have my egg retrieval 3 days ago and 33 eggs were retrieved. I wasn’t aware of OHSS at all. My doctor was in NY and I’m in MD so that’s like 4 hrs away. No one told me I shouldn’t take long trips of 2hrs or more after the egg retrieval because that’s could cause a blood clotting. Second today is my day 4 since I have egg retrieval done and I’m still suffering from abdominal and chest pain. It hurts when I’m peeing, I passed out one time and went to emergency room… they did evaluation and was normal, but I still have the pain in my abdominal area. Today again I felt suddenly dizzy and couldn’t breathe normally.i called 911 and while suffering I felt nausea and I throw up everything…. I’m having an appointment tomorrow with my doctor because he wants to check on me! My recommendations is to not go and do your IVF somewhere far from where you live, and be aware of all these symptoms because you must take this procedure seriously. Pray for me🤲🏻

I did my egg retrieval this weekend. Had 10 follicles, 10 eggs were retrieved but the doctor told me immediately I woke up from the anesthesia I was given that one of my egg did not develop so I know I have 9 left. The following day he called to inform me that 4 eggs were fertilized I was disappointed because I thought I could get all the 9 eggs fertilized. This is my first IVF and I am almost 38yrs. On the second day received another call that my fertilized eggs are doing fine but this time they are now 5 eggs I was surprised, so I asked, the doctor told me 4 yesterday, how come I now have 5 fertilized eggs today? Anyways I was so happy waiting for PGT-A do my fibroids removal and ready to transfer.

@@dombowskyfarms hello, got 11 eggs with 7 fertilized and down to only 4 made it to blastocyst! Transferred 1 (4AA) got pregnant but HCG was rising down at almost 5 weeks and got ruled as chemical pregnancy. Taking rest for the holidays for a bit and already arranged for another transfer in January!

I got an embryos retrieval and I got 17 eggs and only 11 fertilized normal I will get the ones that go into Blastocysts to do PGTa testing. I wanted to know what are the percentage of the 11 that will get to that stage

Yesterday my egg retrieval done. They got 8 eggs and from them only 4 fertilised. Hope atleast 2 embrio we can get. But during the O.T doctor nicked my bladder and blood clot was passing throgh urine. They gave me cathidral also for that. I am scared for that . If there is any chance for infection or any other diesease in bladder?

Oh i have to take 5 days bed rest after eggs retrieval. I thought i would be fine after 1 day rest and started living with daily routine but unfortunately, i lay back to bed again, with fever running up for 2 days .

If you mean fresh vs frozen embryo - success rate depends on many factors but fresh transfers can have a lower success rate if patients have a high response

If I'm planning to freeze all embryos (hoping there is some from a first cycle), is there any longer term effects to my cycle to be aware of after that post- egg retrieval period? Or should things go back to regular cycle straight way?

If you do not do an embryo transfer a few days after the egg retrieval then you will get a period about 7-10 days after the egg retrieval - then your cycle should continue 'normal' for you. Best wishes!

That’s the way most clinics did it years ago - very patient dependent but most people do well

When you under anesthesia you never feel anything. You will be completely in deep sleep and you don't know what happened during egg retrieval 😊 may be after you wake up you might feel mild discomfort. In my case I never felt pain at all.
