That combined 23! Beirne over Sititi is a big call; I’m Irish and even I’m not sure I’d do that. On the other hand, would absolutely take Kellerher over Aumua. Agree with the combined team. The run on team is Irish heavy but some of the picks were only by a slither. The NZ bench is AB heavy. As for AB loose forwards, does it matter where they pack down? Ardie is an eight who plays like a seven. Wallace is a six who plays like an eight, and Cane is a seven who plays like a six. What’s important (and even the that guy who I played beside, Murray Mexted, he who is an authority in loose forward play is coming round to this view) is the combination. It’s hard to pick this game, my heart says NZ my mind says Ireland, I am hoping the ABs will be starting to groove their combinations and that the Irish will be a little rusty.

I love it and I think it adds massively to the world appeal of rugby as a spectacle. One of my favourite memories is Willie Anderson marching his Irish warriors to go nose to nose against the Haka in Dublin. We lost, but by god, that was sporting theatre at its best. But here's the question... do NZ put so much into it that they lose an edge when the game starts? The opposition know what's coming, they have seen it many times before, it's no big deal any more. I don't want to see it stop, but if I were a Kiwi, I'd be wondering whether it gives them a positive or a negative against the big boys. Just a thought.
