My husband and I just recently found out about embryo donation and after 15 yrs we have hope again. And after a difficult and long adoption we are now looking for embryo donors and just praying we can grow our family more. Thank u for an informative video.

I really support embryo donation but I find atrocious the idea that recipient parents are allowed to hide it from their children.

It's sad that people would be so secretive about this. selfish, too. Kids deserve to know where they come from! kids deserve to know that they have siblings out there. them ore love, the merrier!

Another concern is how the children born in the original couple, will feel. Will they resent their parents for giving away their potential siblings

And that's why we have everyone talk to therapists first and the children grow up knowing each other as much as possible.

Is their an age limit on adopting a embryo? (USA).

Different agencies and clinics have different age limits and requirements. Embryo Connections is a great agency for older couples or older singles!

I’m someone who has gone through infertility. I did three rounds of IVF. On the fourth round we had 4 normal embryos. We have two left but my husband and I are on different pages as far as wanting more. I personally look at my two embryos that are left as babies and am disheartened by the fact you are referring to them as only cells. It’s not so easy to just adopt them out even though this is something that we are considering. However I know it will be so hard to make that choice that I’m not willing to make that point. And watching this video seems to down play the person’s feelings as to how we will feel adopting these babies out.

I’m on the other end of things considering adopting embryos but wishing there was a way to have a semi open embryo adoption. What if the child wants to meet their donor family one day? There needs to be more laws surrounding this just like traditional adoption because like you said they are children not just cells.

I think it’s wonderful that you are considering adopting you’re two embryos. My husband and I have also had three rounds of IVF that has failed and unfortunately because I’m 44 it doesn’t make sense to continue to throw money at some thing that isn’t working. We want to be good stewards of all of our resources that God has blessed us with. We really wanted to work with snowflake adoption. However it would take 5 to 9 months before we could do a transfer in at my age and where we’re at in the process we have decided to go work with Shady Grove and local fertility clinic that has an embryo donation and recipient program that is very affordable. The downside to going this route is that it is anonymous. We are going to have our psych counseling session next week. We have not been paired with a donor yet. If you are still considering adopting your embryos and haven’t worked with anybody, Shady Grove will even help two parties with all of the legal documentation, but we would be open to discussing an open adoption to see if there’s a fit between our families, as we also want to children and going this, route doesn’t guarantee that we would have sibling group adopted. We would have to have two separate embryo donors. It’s not what we wanted but it’s a path that is open to us and after lots of prayer and research, we are going down. Prayers to you and your husband as you make these hard decisions. Just know that it is people like you with hearts like yours that value, life, that make it possible for people like us who can’t get pregnant naturally so thank you.❤

Can I get pregnant again if I donate my embryos?
@dianabosco39113 жыл бұрын
I'm no doctor but from my understanding that shouldn't be a problem. As long as the egg you used to create the embryo wasn't your last one, than there is no reason you couldn't get pregnant after that

Are there any locations that do embryo donation other than a doctors office like for example a place like cryo california? Preferably one that doesn’t do home visits and are anonymous. Also Hispanic donors.
