I once had really terrible wifi, my ping was over 3000 (I didn't even know that was even possible before), and I could literally not play. Luckily it wasn't in a rated game and my team wasn't mad. I decided to just be a distraction (surprisingly I died last a few times XD). After that game, I quit for the day cuz the wifi wasn't getting any better.

After watching this video, I feel like I have to share my personal experience here as it still haunts me to this day. I am a girl, playing on Singapore Server and I was only 1 month into the game. I decided to play comp since my friends wants to rank up. I usually play unrated, and only want to start ranking up when I understand the game more in depth. We were a trio and the duo who plays reyna and jett were being super toxic towards me. FYI, I NEVER TURNED ON MY MIC. My friends muted them but since I thought I needed comms info from our duelists, I left them unmuted. Not only were they being sexist, they were spewing out offensive and disturbing comments. It was really toxic, I was doing so bad. And at every round, they died on site once they entered, so three of us were planning to rotate. They started yelling for me (playing sage) to plant, I mean the site was not cleared and it was stupid to rush after them dying. They top fragged, and three of us did no trash talk aside from one of my friend calling them trashy for making comments like that. In the midst of the game, they were like "oh is viper your boyfriend, i can carry you better" and borderline harassing me further for the rest of the game. It was super high pressure as this is my first shooter game, my first ever PC game! It's sad that for this toxic players, it's just a game and their ego and for victims under these abuse, they take this into their personal life and lose the confidence in their gameplay. Like they weren't even punished for anything because everything was said in voice chat. Ever since then, I don't use mic unless I am doing well and only at the end of the match to say "gg" to the team.

You can always report for multiple things, among them "abuse of comms - voice and hate speech". You can also write in the report what was said for clarification. I'm sorry you experienced that :( I recently started playing and am mainly playing spike rush or unrated, while playing comp with a friend. I do suck at the game, but I never understood why you would be toxic in a game anyway. You can't win all. Hopefully you will push through it and not let idiots get you down.

Me and my friend duo together we had a round where I was the only girl, I was called bad at the game continously (I top flagged?) Called a sex toy and told to go the kitchen. Then the next game was a full girl team + my duo, and he said it was the most supportive game he's ever played. Even if we whiffed it "never happened" and ended the game crying of laughter. Like this is a direct comparison on how shit it is to play val as a girl. Oh yeah something small I want to say was in the 1st match I basically only said 1 thing (something like "on A") and instantly got hated. Egg, I genuinely hope you see this: I play on 170-190 ping as us south africans don’t have servers. We play against euro servers and I have managed to reach plat and my mate reached Ascendant. I know many people from SA who are diamond or higher. The amount of times we get asked why we play if our ping is high or “why is your ping so high” drives me insane. We normally outfrag our teammates and are almost always the reason our team wins. Why is their such a stigma behind ping? We never had it for siege or COD but do now. We still don’t have for Fort, Apex or Valorant yet we have some insane players. Why do we get outed for high ping if we do what low ping players do better than they do it?

Hey eggwick! Longtime viewer and discord server enjoyer. I've been playing Valorant since the first month of release and have been always hardstuck Iron. I never had a problem with it as I simply enjoy the game and don't care about rank. But recently the last of my friends have climbed out of Bronze into Silver and now I'm not able to play with them anymore. The main reason I play Valorant is cause it's fun to play with my friends, but now I can't do that with the rank difference. Now I just have to sit there and watch my friends play but not be able to join them. I need help, what should I do?

I was hardstruck iron too, well currently trying to get silver 1 ; so not too great either. But what got me out was: *stop playing duelist for now, play supports like brim, sage, sova, maybe kj, viper. If possible learn 1-2 lineups from KZbin of the said agents it helps tremendously. *communicated even if no ones uses their mic *warmup before matches. Try to practice to hold angles in unranked *learn to take a quick glance at the minimap when u here gunshots or utilities *gamesense>aim, do not focus to much on improving aim *ur gamesense will gratually develop as u do these things. If u still whiff or get stressed in comp play unrated ONLY for a few weeks, develop some confidence on holding angles and then give it a try.

The amount of toxic ppl in unrated is insane. I'm new to the game and encounter them all the time. The worse one was a chick flaming me because I was using a judge, and all I was doing was trying to get a hang of the guns

I've had to hide my name in games (while I'm quite proud of my name) because they would just get super toxic,, idk because of the fact that from my name you can clearly tell i'm a girl or because they're just so insecure about their own gameplay that they have to shit mine. (Might I add that I just recently got into Valorant and that my highest kills in an unrated game were 22 so I still have to learn). and what you said ''its always the bottomfragger that says shit like this'' that is completely true. I've never gotten any toxic word from the topfragger, ALWAYS from the bottomfragger. And it's unfortunate I always get toxic people in my ''bad'' games where I don't get 22 kills.

I am glad that the Sage was able to get the ace despite her ping, but I don't think the Sage was in the right either. The whole concept of ''it's just unrated, it's just quickplay'' is very stupid. People want to win games regardless of what mode it is and to assume otherwise is quite selfish. Not defending the Raze by any means, but I can sympathize with her. She was definitely very passive aggressive, although I wouldn't necessarily call her toxic. She just sounded extremely frustrated. Also the Sage saying ''chill the f*** out'' to me sounded infinitely more aggressive, haha. Definitely shouldn't have started the argument with the Sage though. Both parties are in the wrong, imo.

the lower elo toxicity is something else - especially on EU. luckily i haven't had much recently. the other day i had a self-proclaimed "alpha russian" tell me to stop talking and giving out shit comms, then proceeded to copy EVERYTHING i said word for word, and then bottom fragged.. the bottom fraggers always got something to say :)
