Thanks for the video. May I have your opinion about height problem in Waltz? Me and my partner difference around 18cm. Some friends in my dance studio say this huge difference will be challenging to us. Is it true that Dancer with same height can dance better than us?
@EgilsSmagris5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. Height difference influences two things. Leg height difference influences steps and shoulder height difference influences frame.
@supardicoa4105 жыл бұрын
@@EgilsSmagris Thanks for the reply. We have height difference in shoulder. What must we do or practice to get better frame with this difference?
@EgilsSmagris5 жыл бұрын
I suggest that Mans right arm from elbow to wrist must be downwards, because Ladys left armpit and shoulder-blade is lower. Lady should keep elbows on same level as shoulders for obvious reasons.

The startling foot, while man is on the left, women are on the right, why did they changed to the opposite? The steps that follows were all wrong.
@EgilsSmagris5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Aaron for your comment. Starting Foot depends on which figure you dance first. If we start with Natural figure forward (example Natural Turn) then Man starts with Right Foot forward.
@AARON128955 жыл бұрын
@@EgilsSmagris Then how do you explain the simple rule of dancing: no two consecutive steps on the same foot? I saw after you finished your right foot (or left foot), you continued with the same foot. How did you expect your partner to follow correctly without stepping on you foot? Or you without tripping?
@EgilsSmagris5 жыл бұрын
阿阮Aaron thats good question. You are talking about figure called Hesitation Change (or Natural Turn with Hesitation). Man here doesn’t transfer weight on count 3, but closes foot without weight. Lady will feel that and correspond accordingly. In this particular figure there is no rise on counts 2,3 - this also indicates that this is not “normal” Natural Turn. Hope it explains Hesitation.
