All of the exercises you demonstrate slowly and then you add music to see the end result. I cannot tell which dance you favor as you flow through each and every one of them. I watch them over and over again. Very grateful for your videos.

+Lynn Fabia thanks for careful studying our videos. I like both styles, but probably ballroom is my favorite

Basic principles for arm movements for Man and Lady are the same. Of course styling of arm and hand movement can be quite different.

Could you add counts, please? I cannot coordinate movements of the two arms((
@EgilsSmagris4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Maria for your question. Here is description with COUNT. (RA - Right Arm, LA - Left Arm) Starting position - RA fwd palm un, LA to side palm down 2 - RA move to side, at same time LA move forward in front of body & - finish side movement with RA, turn LA with palm up and bend elbow down Now same movement but with opposite arms 3 - LA move to side, at same time RA move forward in front of body & - finish side movement with LA, turn RA with palm up and bend elbow down Now same movement as in beginning, but slower timing 4&1 - RA move to side, at same time LA move forward in front of body & - finish side movement with RA, turn LA with palm up and bend elbow down.

Will you do a video that shows proper hand/finger placement? i.e. pointer finger up, "IQ" finger down ect. so that the hand doesn't look like a catcher's mitt? I've heard about a trick where you place a pencil between your fingers to get that graceful hand extension. And does that apply to all dances? Sorry if this sounds like such an amateurish question.
@EgilsSmagris8 жыл бұрын
+Edith Paul it's very good question and I will put your idea in plans for future video. I think trick with pencil and some other tricks is of good use especially for Lady's Arm styling!

If I do this often enough if will feel natural and I wont feel odd. My dance partner loves the rumba, its her favourite dance, buts it my least favourite! Thanks for the video.
@EgilsSmagris8 жыл бұрын
+Peter Beyer good point, I agree 100% that feeling natural is important when you do arms in latin

These videos are great! Thank you! One question though - at the end, you say something about "Latin American dancing". So is this basically for rhythm then, or are these technique points valid for International Latin styles? The videos seem to teach international style (as far as I can tell, the follower's knees are straight, which I've heard is true in international latin but not american rhythm), but I just want to make sure I'm doing the technique for the right style of dancing, since American and International are different. Thanks!
