Had the same problem with my amp, a slight increase in volume would crash my room windows, totaly unbearable. So I bought an attenuator. Now I can crank my amp up for better tones yet reasonable volumes.

sure! thats a solution too and will probably sound better!

Dražen Vida what attenuator do you have?

Assuming that the micro of your smartphone is at the bottom, then you covered the mic by standing it on the mic. So the SPL values are not correct, but still a good approach to show em.

Hi man. I think if he did test on dry and then with amp and he has monitoring in the same place out side of speaker that its quit comparable check of volume in the same place of monitoring. How he should measure volume infront of speaker when in dry mode is no volume going out side of speaker and after switch on will be aplified?. I think that this review is quit good and for sure in your speaker you hear more volume because of miced thats no doubt but still showing ability to play somehow low volume with good sound out side of speaker zone which is quit good information. May be Im wrong but I really like that monitoring is out side of speaker (to do not measurement of speaker efficiency) but in audience position. Thanks, David.

Good video as usual Cory. One question though: where is the mic on that Huawei phone? If it's on the bottom it's not picking up much since the phone is standing up ;) -- They make external mics for phones that you could place in front of the cab . Keep up the good work , and congrats on the Patreon !!

i knew the question would come and you are not wrong. :) the microphone is indeed at the bottom. but i tested it before and for some reason it made no difference. you can see it when i talk how sensitive it still works. and it catched the room volume quite nicely.

I don’t find that kind of app being really reliable.

Hey , thanks for a great video. Do you have any knowledge to how the 40w tweaker is at low volumes? Or anybody else reading this for that matter.

Hi Cory! I got the Egnater Tweaker 15 head and now a looking for the right speaker for it. I have the Greenback but it simply breaks up too early and the break up is too raw, very crappy. Greenback is 25 watts. I guess I will need a higher wattage speaker to give me lots of headroom but I want a speaker under 100db. What speker did you use here? I know you have a Jensen speaker in one of your cabs but which one is it? Did you use the Jensen in this vid? Thanks mate, all the best!

Cool video Cory. I have the same kind of constraints and can only play at night. I also have a Tweaker 15 and bought an Harley Benton attenuator that can also act as a pure loadbox if you unplug the cab. Combine this with some impulse response (Nadir or LeCab plugin in Reaper + free Redwirez Marshall IRs) you can get massively great sound in purely silent recording. I am sure you will enjoy it if you try.

Great idea to make this video. Very helpful :-)

+Nicolas Paglialunga there is more you could so btw! connect a volume or EQ pedal to the effect loop to tame it even more or more controllable. like this you could push the preamp more

Man I see that you have a bugera and a twaker. I already have the bugera v22 and was thinking of another amp with better distorted tone. Do you think the Egnater Tweaker is a good choice? The other amp that I am considering is the Marshall dsl20. Any feedback that you can give me will be of great help.

I'm two years late but I'm looking for a budget tube amp and these are exactly my options favorites too, which one did you end up choosing?!

Sorry but that amp sounds like ass at 60db save for the stomp box. I think an attenuator would get the job done.
