Great video! Best amp review format I’ve seen. And by far the best review for this amp. It’s actually a really useful review for those of us wanting to really know what it’s like without getting a chance to try it personally. I really like that you not only demonstrate the sounds, but explain everything on the amp. I am not a fan of amp reviews that are only sounds without explaining the amps features. Keep up the good work!

I have had this amp since it came out. It benefits from a vintage tube swap to your taste. I run into a mesa boogie 1,12 cab with the 90w. Sounds great and has plenty of punch

absolutely fantastic demo & rundown good sir. have you ever used this in a live setting with other musicians / a band? if so, how does the volume and/or headroom hold up? for example, I'm wondering as I have a fender hot rod 40 w combo and it is WAY LOUDER for stage / show volume than I ever expected! Fills the stage plenty before even being miked up -- would this be the same case? On the other hand, I bought a bassbreaker 15 head and it couldn't remotely compete with my band setting so I upgraded to a bb 40. let me know what you think. Thanks Cory

@CoryMura6 жыл бұрын
15w is still loud and to loud for bedroom use. personally i would always go for digital solutions or down to 5w if it really needs to be a tube head/combo. dont get me wrong..i use it in bedroom volume too sometimes, but it lacks tone there.

@carljenkins73546 жыл бұрын
The Egnator Diagram for the sound settings didn't matach what you were playing. half the time the modern switch was down when it should have been up. I would also agree that a looper is the best way to test the settings for differences, back to back, so that the playing doesn't change at all, because it's a looped copy, you know. Love that part. Still, this was a F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C. review. Love the sounds. You just made an Egnator sale. (to be honest, I was already probably going to, but you sealed it.) lol

I have the Egnater Tweaker 40 Combo and I can’t get a single tone I like out of that amp. I like the tweak ability of the amp and features tho. I do want to try it with a different guitar. I’m using a Schecter Diamond Series Banshee 7-A with Emg humbuckers. I was so excited to try the amp out but once I got it, I was really let down with the tone of the amp. It just has this boxy, muddiness to it. I’m really hoping a different guitar, like single coil or something will change my mind, or maybe getting an extension cab to allow it to breathe a little better and it will open up. I mainly play very clean. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to get my egnator tweaker combo sounding sweeter? I really want to like this amp
@allstopblue57174 жыл бұрын
I’ve got the 15 head as shown in this video. Have had it for about 5 years. NEVER use it. Same issue you have I cannot get a solid tone that inspires me to play. Love the tweakability as well but it’s just kinda flat and 2-D sounding to me.idk getting real close to selling it. I have a $120 Orange micro dark that sounds better to me. Edit: to your question I have many, many guitars high end expensive down to Epiphone and Squier single coil, and humbuckers.
@orryfishburne53264 жыл бұрын
•allstopblue • I’m glad u said that cause I’ve been contemplating selling mine as well. I definitely agree with what u said about it sounding 2d. It’s just ironic how it has so much tweakability but nothing really sounds good. Lol

It also doesn’t take pedals very well. I’m using a Flashback 2 X4 and a Hall Of Fame 2 in the effects loop and both sound very off.

Is the sound of this little big amp remarkable different to El 34 or El 84 loaded amps or black stars..and maybe another question which would be the best cab which one should select for this amp " moving the air", from bed to small jam? Hey Cory Mura. Vielen Dank
@CoryMura7 жыл бұрын
@flothemo7 жыл бұрын
Cory Mura Hey!

@CoryMura7 жыл бұрын

Thanks for your great work, Cory! I agree that this is the best Tweaker 15 demo I've found. The looping works really well for allowing us to see your adjustments in real-time. You sold me on this amp! Mine should be here in a few days! Am I correct in assuming that 15 watts is @ 4 ohms? The manual doesn't clarify the rating, but that's usually what manufacturers do: Namely post the best case scenario, correct?

What pedal delay do you use with this amp? I use a carbon copy delay pedal from MXR and it sounds terrible when playing the gain chanle.
@ROHAN49535 жыл бұрын
Use it in the fx loop
@rockssr5 жыл бұрын
The CC, and several other analog delays like it, do, indeed, sound bad in the effects loop if you’re using a lot of gain, but that’s because those pedals are at a much lower voltage than the line level effects loop. Those pedals have the same problem with other amps that have a hot line level series effects loop. I use the Ebtech LLS-2 (there are a number of other boxes like it) to take the effects out voltage down to the level of the CC and then bring it back up to line level for the effects return. The CC sounds great then, even with high gain. Most digital delays or rack mount effects units work well as-is with the hotter line level effects loop of the Tweaker 15. There are a couple of mods floating around the internet that you can do to overcome this interaction with analog pedals like the CC, but I’d rather use an external box than change the circuit. If you’re set on using the CC (like me), but don’t want to use a line level switcher, you can contact Egnater support. I have read that they will perform the mod for you.
