I'm yet only halfway through the video. So happy to see someone not trying to show off the thing by opening it up. I can see your throttles are in eco mode or close to it and it's doing great. So many people like to open it up and throw the snow across the street just to make it look like it's impressive. Those of us deciding to get this unit or not, it gives us hope because we know we need to keep it lower to get the job done without running out of juice. For this reason alone this is a very valuable video. Thank you.... Good man.

I finished the video. Amazing at those settings and you're doing a full bite. Most people with gas models just do half cuts. I think you should too but interesting that it handled a full load at that depth so well and at about 60% charge (3/5 lights) Thnx again.
@panNCR
@panNCR 2 жыл бұрын
@@CraftsmanontheLake thanks for the comment. You're right, I had it in eco for the auger, and slowest drive speed. Yeah I normally would do 3/4 cuts just because of the overflow snow that usually falls to the side. But I was able to do a quick secondary cleanup pass to pick up all of that stuff before the batteries died

Trust me it doesn't just look like it's impressive, it is!! I have 11 batteries so I don't understand why my using it in turbo and not worrying about battery life offends you. This machine works amazing in all settings but it is just pure fun in turbo. Each of us has to work the settings that is right for our situations. For some that is endurance at a sacrificed pace. Others are still tickled that this beast is battery powered and should not exist. But it does and it does not do so lightly. A snow Joe can lob snow 15 ft. So we like to show off the performance.
@panNCR
@panNCR 2 жыл бұрын
@@egomaniac8510 I think it's mostly because like me, i don't have any other Ego products, so I only have the 2 batteries it came with. Since the batteries are so expensive, some people will not buy additional ones when getting this snowblower. I keep mine in Eco mode now so i don't have to recharge every time i do the driveway. Makes it better for charge cycles in the long run and should make the batteries last longer.

Thanks for sharing! I have an Ego Stage 1 blower and love it but am considering this beauty too. One tip to consider, after making your initial path from the house you could start basically where you were at about 2:20. That way the snow isn't covering paths you've already covered and you wont have to go back over it twice!

Yeah, i didn't follow my normal plan for this video. I normally don't get rid of all the snow at the road that way. I go up and down the driveway after i clear enough of the road to take my car out .... Like in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJLUnWNmqLB2o68

first winter with my new ECO 2-stage. I have a gravel drive, cleared 4" deep snow on my 300' drive (x about 10') with still two bars left. Used the lowest eco mode for the auger, was no need to go higher. I have the two 7.5 amp batteries.

@@wlpark001 I did a modification to the plastic skid plates as they wear out too fast by the exposed gravel. I bolted a scraper to the skid plate which serves like a ski. I had to do the same for my gas model that I used to own.

Snowvember here in Buffalo. Just 81" of heavy wet easy packing snow. Thankfully my 12 year old ariens was ready. Took hours to do my drive then I helped my neighbor. Under good conditions I'm sure electric works well. When you need a tool to last and have a long run time ice is the only way to go.

I got lucky the first year it came out. Unfortunately it was sold out everywhere I looked, however it was a Lowe's that had it as a display model and they were willing to sell it to me considering they didn't have any on the floor to sell. It was never brought out, it was stored in the back. I took it home in my Kia soul. It didn't come in a box because it being the floor model it only came with the batteries, charger and the machine itself. I disassembled the handlebars in it fit just fine in my soul

Just a question about technique. I see many users on other videos too, finish a row then pull the unit back to start another row, Is that done because of the camera? It seems it would be more efficient to swing the unit and chute 180 degrees and turn and go back the way you came.

2nd season using the 2 stage one, its got lots of power but it falls short of battery time, and forget about using your other ego batteries unless there 7.5 or higher don't last for more than 3 minutes, this snow blower is a power hog!! Ego should include at least 2 10 amp batteries I think that's were it falls short. love the product, great power but it just don't last for me. I have a circular driveway on anything more than 6 inches or higher I have to charge it 3 times to get it done, not acceptable. Ego needs to improve on the battery capacity, don't get me wrong love the product but needs a bigger battery.

I would say that your batteries or the snow blower itself are defective. However ensure you're also using eco mode to maximize your time. Depends, if you keep it in eco mode, it's still pretty good overall. Worth the price to me. He had to finish by hand. Plus no dealing with carburetors, no bad gas.
