Friend, I greatly appreciate your engaging and informative Ego product reviews. I’ve collected many Ego tools over the years, and I’m especially excited to one day get the mini bike. Could you please test the mini bike’s range with various battery configurations in different modes over different terrain and of course at different speeds? I live in a hilly area, so the range will certainly be reduced compared to riding on flat land. I’m also curious about how far a single spare battery of different AH ratings can extend the range in an emergency.

Hey Al, does your kickstand shift a bit...outward, by the socket, after it's initially locked down (especially if applying any pressure downward), while it's holding the bike up? (almost like a mini ball joint) Mine does, but not nearly enough to have the bike fall. Just wondered if this was by design. Thanks.

It looks to me like these will mainly need oem parts. It is hard to find the minibike brand new so I feel sure the parts will be hard to find and likely pricey. With many ebikes and escooters parts are not a problem at all and many are interchangeable. Personally I would have preferred an ebike or scooter. I would love to see what commonly replaced parts cost and their availability like brake pads, tires and wheels. Are the tires tubed or tubeless? This minibike reminds me of their Nexxus power generator. A device that is likely made well but falls short in some very important areas. I have the Nexxus and like it despite its shortcomings btw.

Really good review, I’ve subscribed. I’m a fan EGO, i have several of their products, I’m considering getting the Power Station and possibly the 10ah batteries, so this Bike is now on my radar IF it can be driven on surface streets in California? Or at least in a bike lane. Would like to know how it holds up for you longer term. Since you already have a big investment in those batteries it would be nice if you could make a log of the Lifespan vs usage, sa miles total on the Bike and hours of use on the Lawn Mower, etc. Thanks for this vid, i will look for your Tesla review also, I’m thinking about the model Y upgrade next year. Cheers from San Diego

Watch out if you’re in NJ. Since the mini bike doesn’t have pedals I’m not sure it’s legal to ride anywhere except private property. I rode ATV’s and dirtbike for years in South Jersey in the sand pits and dunes but got tired of having to run and hide from cops. I have an E-bike which is legal since it’s got pedals and is considered a bicycle. I don’t think the law has yet figured out what to do with new battery mini bikes.

20 miles of range on the slow(eco) setting? And that’s with both batteries. That seems really low. Also this isn’t street legal so most of us city people won’t be able to use it. And yes I’ve looked into the general laws, I wish they at least put turning signal lights on either side. Something like this would probably need bicycle pedals in order to be legal to drive on the street with a class 3 certification (Which is what this has) and that’s exactly where I would want to drive it. It’s bassically a mini motorcycle that isn’t street legal, only goes 28mph and at absolute max gets 20 miles to a charge on a flat surface in the lowest speed mode. Seems like they need to work on the battery technology a little more before I’d consider it worth more than a Honda grom/monkey/or a real dirt bike that can do all that and you can actually work on it yourself without needing to mess with electronics and with a variety of parts that have been around for years. I don’t like jumping on the “first edition” of a product. No offense to ego, design and ergonomics are great, general max speed is adequate, it just needs better range. I know people who use dirt bikes on a regular basis on their property and I feel this would just be a “toy” by comparison to the bikes they actually use and trust on trails. I guess this was focused towards a very niche market. Maybe gen 2 or 3 down the line when they increase the range and have had customer feedback on issues I’ll jump in but right now it’s just kind of a nice concept to me.

They could have done better than a dual 280w charger. That's not much better than having two cheapo 210w chargers that are everywhere and Ego wants $200 for that thing! Two hours is way to long to charge those batteries. The charger should have been dual 500w at least.
@Trillville435 ай бұрын
