I purchased an ego 52cm mower about 3 years ago because you caused said they were great. 3 years later, I would NEVER go back to a petrol power mower. EGOs range of mowers/blowers/line trimmers have changed the game. The days of changing oil, yearly servicing, fueling up and mixing fuel are looooong gone. Well done boys!

Been waiting for Milwaukee's mower to come out in Aus for a while now since I use a tonne of their M18 stuff for work but tired of waiting.. now looking into the EGO products for my garden care (Plus they do a nice small inverter that use these batteries).. thanks for the solid review it is certainly tempting me.

I've bought one of these. It has many advantages over my Honda powered Victa, but it definitely doesn't cut quite as well. It's adequate, and I'm fine with it, but it doesn't cut as well. I think the difference is that the rotational speed is not as high as with the petrol mower.

You say you have linked to the other videos that go into depth on the features in the description, however there are no links to these videos in the description. Where are they?

sorry mate, that was a long time ago now :/ I'm not sure what happened.

G'day Itnats, as with a lot of KZbin vids, you hit the settings cog in the top right corner of the video overlay, then hit "More from Oz Tool Talk" and you'll see two videos linked there.

12:58 - ...and if it's a 2-stroke "which it shouldn't be". What's wrong with 2 -strokes = are they illegal now or something. My 30 year old BRONCO 2-stroke is still going strong - starts with half a pull every time, and all I do is clean the spark plug every couple of years.

bad for the environment, and loud. but yeah, i love 2 stroke (chainsaw lover)

Thanks for the review guys, entertaining to watch! Ego leaves out on every one of their mowers the most important piece of information, the motor size. I emailed them even, and they told me they don't have access to the W/kW of their motors. Umm, what? 😯 I'm interested in them but that's a major red flag when a company can't or won't tell you the specs of their equipment. It should be illegal in my opinion. Anyhow, I'm trying to find out so I can compare it to the 60V Masport that I'm also considering which is a 1.2kW motor. Any idea how this compares? Also the cheaper LM1703E if you know, as I see you have both of these in a kit with a blower. I'm also not sure about the bar blade, I've only had swing back in the past, and I heard the bar blade can damage the shaft if you hit something hard, even rocks. What do you think? Also is this really 40Kg? I looked in the manual and it says 25.1Kg.

I wish we would see more of you, as you tend to not publish as often as others. I think that you are among the top tool testers on YT (many are close to rubbish in how they test and review tools). Hoping to see you more often, and that your channel grows. Are you open to receive free tools, or do you always borrow or buy?

thanks for the feedback. we try to make god videos, but this is only a weekend job for us. We are going to start making some different videos, as long-form reviews are in decline :/

major point , did you actually mow any Lawn as opposed to the block clearing demo in the video :) I own the 52cm ego but it's a pushy not a self propelled.

Do you have an comment on the after sales service and warranty issues? I've read a few comments mentioning how bad it is and wondered if you have heard the same?
@OZToolTalk3 жыл бұрын
hmm we don't have a lot to go on. What I do know is that EGO have won several supplier awards from Total Tools in recent years (which look at after sales service among other things). That may be relevant to your question ....
@adamwixx47963 жыл бұрын
@@OZToolTalk Thanks. I decided to take a punt and got the line trimmer and self propelled mower. The free battery promo sealed the deal. So far so good. Cut my extremely overgrown 1200sqm lawn without problem. :)

This was my first choice last month while considering the options, but was quickly dismissed in favor of one Japanese brand you may have hear of ;) mostly because of the thing you praise so much: polycarbonate deck. It's quite probably the filthiest plastic there is, that most likely will never be recycled, while the endocrine disruptors and other highly toxic "forever chemicals" used in its production will keep on causing havoc in any ecosystem it gets in touch with (including that of humans). PC should have been universally banned years ago (when it was banned for use for pipes or dishes in many developed countries), not pushed into new areas of application. And the second reason was that this is a Chinese company (Chervon Group (not Chevron ;)). I've no issues with stuff made in China but try avoiding purely Chinese companies.

Run time is still low sorry. Even for my back yard that takes me 1 hour and a half to under 2 hours to mow even with low growing grass, I will still use petrol until run time increases in years to come.
@OZToolTalk3 жыл бұрын
yep a backyard of that size still warrants petrol I agree.

I purchased the whole EGO system based on the performance of the blower and reviews. Should of learnt about FANBOYS beforehand. The mower is absolute crap. Waste of $1k. My 20+ year old Victa which sits out the back under a tree outperforms the EGO. PS: to those going on about yearly servicing the petrol. Mine sits outside and once a year I'll put some Start Ya Bastard in it and it fires right up. The blades are 10+ years old and I've been told i need to get a Special Blade for my EGO which may lessen the mohawk cuts and pick up more grass (maybe).
