Brah, been using mine for a few years now on a substantial size lawn, 15k sq ft, with no issues. I’ve never had the line break off one sided like you showed unless it’s low on line. I did load mine with a high grade line since the orange stuff that came with it looked puny. It took a few trims to get used to it after using my gas echo for 15 years. I’ve been impressed enough to get the hedge trimmer and chainsaw. This stuff is not for the commercial user but I’m happy with it.

Same thing. The cap is damn hard to get off, and once you get the line loaded the tap feed doesn't work 80% of the time. Using EGO line in the correct size. Dare I spend money on the new Power load, Line IQ version? I love my Ego mower. Maybe they got it right with the new (but more expensive) design?

I bought the ego string trimmer With the powerhead load system where you push a button and it auto feeds it into the head. Then I bought the multi head with the stick edger. I bought both of these when they were on sale the the 1st one I bought with the battery included the blade edger I bought the tool only I spent a little under $300 for both. I would say the string trimmer with the power load system is better you just can't let the string get so short it breaks off inside of the head before you you tap for more string it may just be a personal preference. I would say this is a good honest review.

Totally get the frustration. I have a hard time with tapping mine too. So I just press it with my hand, unwind it, and get back to work. Doesn't bother me too much since my yard isn't too big, so really need to adjust the string once or twice and I'm good. You also have a bigger battery it seems like. I just use the 2.5ah battery. I have two of them but I can make it on one with 2-3 bars left after trimming, edging, and blowing. I had my doubts with the product at first but realized I just needed some practice and learn the machine. Definitely a downside to the tap and go system, I agree. Hopefully they make a trimmer head attachment with the new feed line system, where it feeds automatically.

Was it not coming out cause you caused an issue by removing it the first time? I have 2 and have never had to open the cap up. Loading them it’s easy no need to remove it. There’s a possibility that when you removed the line and winded it back you went against the line memory causing the problem.

But to say user incompetence is very near-sighted that your experience somehow trumps others'. Though I have more Ego trimmers to base my opinion, I'll just say these are hit or miss. I have last year's Ego trimmer with the carbon fiber shaft and speed feed button. Even that model still has issues after loading string from time to time. Easy way for me to remove the cap is to pop one side of the cap off at a time, and teeter totter back and forth and she will pop loose. A tip I picked up from another channel lady operates a small engine repair shop. She said to throw the roll of line in a bucket of water for 15-20 minutes. Will rejuvenate the line and make it more flexible. She said even on a brand new line it could have been sitting for a year before you purchased it. Try giving that a shot loading line and getting line to feed completely sucks. I can't wait until ego releases their rotary scissors currently available in other countries, but not the USA for some weird reason.

I own the carbon shaft auto-load EGO trimmer AND the Multi-Use Powerhead trimmer attachment as described in the video above.. Here's a tip.....DON'T purchase those (so-called) convenient 15 ft. rolls!...Buy the larger 160 feet roll and cut your own! (Cutter included on the package.)...The larger diameter of the bulk roll is easier to load and feeds consistently...Hands down...Less twisting of the line and kinking....Simply my opinion from using both offerings of EGO string trimmer line.

Thanks for the video. First of all, you are standing at the wrong side of the trimmer when it comes to a Counter-Clockwise spinning trimmer to avoid all the debris. As a user that used a Black & Decker NST2018 Telescope trimmer with Automatic Fee Spool AFS feature for years and switched to the EGO Multi Tool Trimmer it was not an easy adjustment with extra weight, manual trim line loading and bumping to get the line out. I have the Carbon Fiber model first and it is lightweight with autoload line fee but still needs to bump to get the line out. To get the equivalent feature of your Worx with all the power EGO trimmer has to offer and more you need to get the new EGO POWER+ POWERLOAD STRING TRIMMER WITH LINE IQ model ST1623T. It is carbon fiber, It will telescope, it will automatically feed the line without dealing with cartridge, it will automatically extend the line from 5" to 16" without bumping the head and it comes with a quick release handle for you to slide and rotate any way you like with two power settings. Give that a try and I think you will be happy with it 😉 I will be selling the Multi-Head trimmer attachment but keeping the head for the coming snow shovel next snow season.

Great video, looks like Ego have updated the guard on the attachment which is nice. Firstly, Ego line is pox. Buy something better. Secondly, ditch the Ego head and buy a Speed Feed 375 or 450. The line eyelets are closer to the bottom cap which means you’re trimming closer to the ground, and it’s much easier to pull apart if you need!

I’d rather the back pack however to have the lighter unit. Hope you can give me some insight on running a powerload without a guard. Can’t find any videos online of anyone doing it. If it’s like the stx3800, it won’t like having too much line out and it’ll cut power thinking there’s too much load. I’ve got the hang of mine, just letting a bit more out until I hear the sweet whistle of the line

With The ego trimmers: I would recommend a rounder caliber line like Husqavarna. There is less binding than the ego or echo similar squared/ polygonal lines. Also I’ve found not to over load the line, and made sure to measure out at exactly 16 ft then it has worked very well. If you over load the ego trimmer head, it bogs down and won’t feed consistently. But ya- if you have to open the the head: your f’d. It’s way too tight

Hey mate, good video, I found the same problem when I bought the ego string trimmer with the crap heads, I have found this with the petrol version of stihl and bush ranger string trimmer heads too. so from experience I always swap the heads out with the speed feed 450 heads. It’s a shame ego doesn’t test there product enough. Thanks Scotty

It’s the sense of relief he had after removing the face diaper. That ability to breathe freely is amazing.

Geez. Ever thought of getting a flat blade screwdriver and push the tabs on the side instead of ruining your fingers?????🤔

not convenient... what if I have a phillips it in my pocket and trip then stab my leg right through an artery and no one is around to call 911... then that EGO trimmer with the impossible head to open would have taken me away not being able to provide yard content to 2.88k subscribers lol 😂jk I just got the 16" trimmer it's a dream! ☺🙏🏾🤙🏾

I've used this 3 times now. I like it so far other than the skinny ass guard. It's useless. I have so much crap flying back at me it's borderline dangerous. Why they didn't put the larger guard on it like they have on their standalone trimmer is beyond me
@YardBrah2 жыл бұрын

@@MessyKrieg So I spoke with customer service. Apparently from what she thinks is they edited the images or used old images in their pictures. What I have is the "newer" guard. They're going to escalate the concern to management and get back to me Monday. I expressed my issue with how dangerous this new guard is.
