Thanks for the great review. You did a great job…very thorough explanation and demonstration. The best review I’ve seen so far. I just ordered this today and hope to have the same great experience you did.

Just something to keep in mind: Ah doesn't tell you anything about the amount of energy stored, you're looking for Wh. A 12V tool that has a 10Ah battery is still a lot less powerful and has a lower capacity than a 40V 5Ah battery. As long as you're in the same brand and voltage range, Ah can be used as an easier alternative to Wh.
@TheLawnEngineer Жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct, I flubbed that one.
@timderks5960 Жыл бұрын
@@TheLawnEngineer It's not that big of a deal, pretty much everybody does it that way, and it's unfair to compare 12V to 40V tools anyway. It's just good to be very specific online, since some people will always take what you say as an absolute truth, and will blame you when they find out they messed up.

So glad to hear of your positive review. I ordered the blower attachment w/o the handle arm earlier this morning.. It is supposedly interchangeable with their Ego string trimmer.

Just a heads up, I’m sure u figured this out since I made the video, but u can move the front handle farther back to help with bending over as much. It’s supposed to b abt midway from the coupler part to the motor housing. Give or take a little bit each way

Yes, I did figure that out after the video. Thanks for stopping in and sharing with everyone.

I have the 21 inch mower and the 18 inch commercial weed eater. Both perform very well. Have not encountered any issues. I have 5 amp hr. and a 7.5 amp hr. battery. They are a bit pricey.

Since you are now a 2-Tesla family, and using beefier electric chargers, have you seen a significant uptick in your home electric bill?
@TheLawnEngineer Жыл бұрын
Yes it is a noticeable increase. I am leasing a charger from the electric company, so the cost for car charging is separate on the bill from the rest of the house. Last month's cost for car charging was $65 including the $20 for the charger. The remaining electrical charge for the household was $90.
@ms3er396Ай бұрын
depends on where you live. here in central ohio, we are blessed that costs are $.08 per kWh so the impact is minimal. savings over gas is significant. I've had 5 Teslas over 10 years and it's $.02 per mile for energy costs. compare that to gas which has varied over the years from $.10 to $.14 per mile on our various cars.

They're a Chinese company with a plant in Georgia. Chevron owns the brand. Not sure if that's the same Chevron as the oil company.

Good addition. Hopefully some US based companies can catch up. I see John Deere isn't going to try and they are going to sell EGO products at their dealerships.

problem wiht these powered shovels is the wind blows the snow back in ur face
@TheLawnEngineer Жыл бұрын
The turning vanes on this EGO do a pretty good job of shooting to the side instead of directly in front of you. But I agree, if the wind isn't right you get a face full of snow. To be fair, I've had regular snow blowers fill my face with snow too.

You should go with a single stage probably would clean all that at least half the time. But if you get tons of snow maybe the new 28inch 2 stage would be better.

do you have any fire hydrants in your area? can that power shovel be used to clear snow piled up around a fire hydrant, like in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2W2Z2eihZ1rrqM
@TheLawnEngineer Жыл бұрын
I do have a fire hydrant in my front yard. I will test and fill as soon as we get some more snow. I did a little poking around in a snow bank and it did move it. I think the key will be getting to it before it turns to ice.

@@TheLawnEngineerya, i'm just wondering if that power shovel would make it easier or if it would work at all. I've looked for videos of that but I haven't found any. I'm seeing local TV news stations putting out public service messages asking people to clear snow from fire hydrants and I wondered if a power shovel would make it easier. Also, I've asked this question on several other power shovel videos and they all say the same thing, "I don't know, I never tried it" hahahahahaha
