EGO SNOW SHOVEL REVIEW

In this video I use the new EGO Snow Shovel in heavy wet snow 4 inches deep and test how it does on driveways and walkways. With help from its bigger brother the SNT 2400.

I appreciate the video thanks. I have the two stage which I've not gotten to use yet except for a small time testing it. I have to be content watching you play with yours. I want the shovel for certain walkways porch, and deck here and since I'm a senior and have spinal arthritis they'll both be a real help to me. Thanks again for taking the time to make us this demo.

Thanks for making this video. It's a heavy unit to carry around and definitely not a replacement for the single or 2-stage snow blower. Great for carrying around to different locations like 2nd floor balcony, deck or backyard. I hop EGO will make a dedicated carbon fiber electronic shovel like the trimmers which is much lighter to operate. This unit needs to add trimmer shaft support wheels to do an entire driveway without feeling over tired at the end.

Excellent review. I got that attachment recently for clearing my side of the driveway when I have to report in (other half doesn’t have to work when it gets that bad) at 0300,0400, or if I’m lucky 0500. Got it because it appears quieter that my giant steel snow shovel and is definitely quieter than my gas powered snow blower. I WISH ego would make a tracked snow blower for conquering very deep snow, but they don’t. That’s why I’ll never get rid of my gas powered snow blower, it has tracks and I was able to maneuver through our biggest snow last year (23.6”) with no issues and got snow cleared, meanwhile my neighbors (both with gas and electric snow blowers) that had wheels on theirs were unable to maneuver their equipment and got stuck…which worked out great because I had a “reason” 😂 to fire up my four wheeler and clear everyone else’s walks and driveways, as well as the street. Gotta love having a snow plow and 4x4 on a four wheeler! Thanks for a good video.

The key with these is to carry them as little as possible. Slide them everywhere you can cause they are fairly heavy. You're trying to save your back (by not hand shoveling) not hurt it. I have a greenworks shovel. Was surprised at how well it did when first using. Also have an ego blower 1 stage. Also works well. No cords like some electric ones, and no gas and oil like a gas blower. For me, I'd MUCH rather go out 2 or 3 times during a storm then wait until there's a big build up and then try to tackle it. Makes the job using the blower or shovel so much easier. If the batteries need charging again - do it and go inside - have a rest, a coffee, relax. Hit it again later. Except for certain people, during a storm they don't want you on the roads anyway - so why rush things if you don't have to.

You hit the nail on the head exactly go out a few times during the snowstorm makes it much easier To remove.

I'd use a snowblower for that size of driveway. I have the green works version and I like it. Having said that I live in a townhouse and am clearing a single car driveway and helping out with elderly neighbours who can't shovel. The small size means they can get into tight spaces but also keeps them practical for small driveways and walkways.

As far as the snow blower goes, the 2 stage gas machines aren't better with wet snow. So the EGO did well. The snow shovel, in my opinion, did a great job. I had a 34-inch john Deer 2 stage snow blower 10 hp and sold it. I bought an electric battery-operated snow blower, and it works way better for me. Now keep in mind i have a driveway that can accommodate 6 full size pick up trucks and a semi long walkway to my backyard, and I'm 64 with onset oustio arthritis in my lower back. The Ryobi snow blower is easier for me to move around and get the job done.

This is the review i was looking for. I'm in the market of buying this and i wanted to see how it handles. Likes look it's great but can be a bit on the heavy side due to the battery.

Great job on the video, we have a gravel drive about 4-5 car lengths. We would usually just use it to walk out to the cars and the front of the house where there is concrete but no one uses except the mail man. So, gravel is our concern,

Ego sells a backpack where you can carry the battery on your back. Not nearly as hard on your arms or body.

Good video. I have the Power Handle, and like Ego products. I think I'll pass on this one though. I had a long driveway where I had one of those 3 stage Cub Cadets. I moved to a much smaller place. Not nearly as much to shovel, but still more than I think this thing could handle. For what it's worth, the light fluffy stuff- use a leaf blower. I do my front and back porch- plus both sidewalks- in about 20 seconds each. I don't even leave the porch or take off my slipppers. If it's the wet snow that won't work. For me now the main plowing is on the city sidewalks. I live on a corner lot. So 2 sides of my house have to be plowed. That's where I think this thing will have issues.

My driveway is pebbles. Any way to raise this snow shovel up a bit on skids to prevent gouging out the pebbles?

I bought one EGO SNOW SHOVEL. I tried it twice on wet snow. It did not work at all. With dry snow, it worked greatly. I wonder how it works for you on wet snow so well. Are you telling the truth or what? For wet snow I give it "0".

Your driveway seems rather large for the thrower. I have bascially a 2 car width and 1. 5 car length driveway that I think this would work great for. If It snows a lot, i would hit it a couple times like I do with shoveling. Seems a lot easier than shoveling. I dont need a full size snowblower. I dont have enough room in the garage.

That's not a 2.5Ah battery. Looks like a 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah one. It seems fun for smaller spaces. But kind of pointless if you a normal shovel and a small amount of walkway space. An Ego Snow blower would be nice, but still got a gas one to kill off first.

Seems like the shovel is useless on stairs. Also does not look too useful on snow deeper than a couple inches or wet snow. Moral of the story - keep it for light snow, otherwise bring out the big guns.

I want to say no. I would make the hydrant with a couple of snow marker posts so I don’t hit it. Then use a snowblower making it wide. Then finish the clean out with a shovel.

I would be careful you don't burn out the motor, use it for no more than 20 minutes at a time.
