EGR Valve Skoda Fabia 2 1.6 TDI 2012 ( how to change the EGR valve on VAG )

In this video I will show you how you can change the EGR valve on the Skoda Fabia 2 2012 1.6 TDI, this engine model has the EGR valve behind the engine. This tutorial is also useful for other car owners in the VAG Group ( Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat).

Did you remove the subframe completely? Looking to replace my egr, just seeing if it's possible to do it on jacks as I don't have access to a lift.

Yes it can be done on jacks, the front axle just needs to be loosened to remove the particulate filter, if you pay attention to the video you will succeed. Don't forget to insure the car properly!

What brand did you buy. I herd afterkarket is not good, only original. On my car i got the check engine, no other simptoms is dat good or bad?

I changed to an afterkarket and it works great, no problems. Check engine has many causes, do a diagnostic.

You can also change the EGR frome the top, but it seemed to be more work to do.

A friend with a Fabia diesel had a replacement ear fitted. When she got home and hubby asked how much?, she said do you want to lie down. What for? He asked. Because that’s what you will be doing when I tell you. The price can top £750, up to £1000, depending who does it. I understand the DPF will inevitably require placing sometime soon after. Yikes.
