I have traveled more than 100 flights during the last twenty years on different international airlines for more than 15. EgyptAir is one of the best companies I have traveled with in terms of service, punctuality, and the efficiency of the pilots in checking and landing. Perhaps the price is not the best, but in exchange for the service, in terms of the weight of luggage and food, perhaps. We ask for an excuse

Flew EgyptAir business on their A330-300 from Cairo to Johannesburg about a month ago. I fully agree that it was better than expected. Not impressive but also not as bad as other reviews may have you believe. The lounge in Cairo was a disaster and my wife and I left after 15 minutes. Poor food offerings, uncomfortable chairs, and loud TVs playing different stations.

Lovely review as always! EgyptAir uses a bunch of aircraft for this route, personally I do this segment 2 times a year, and it ranges from an A321neo to a B777-300ER and their beautiful new 787s. Something to note though, Egyptair's cash fares are usually ridiculous for this route and can sometimes can be the same as Emirates during the summer season. Also that blanket gives me a lot of memories, I probably have 20 of that stashed in my closet. lol. Also, tip on Cairo International: Walk into terminal 2 if you can, it is a lot more cleaner, organized and generally better plus it has a proper priority pass lounge that is 10x better than whatever Egyptair offers in T3. (and for the clock thing it's been a while since Egypt observed DST and was just passed in 2023 after they abandoned it in 2015, the entire country was ah...)
@tfft9 ай бұрын
Yeah when I booked this it was meant to be a 787 lol. As for the lounges- good note for next time but I just passed through again some days ago and it seems they're renovating the MS lounges now. One was closed and in lieu we had access to a really nice contract lounge in T3.
@oeldesouky9 ай бұрын
@@tfft Finally, thats good news. The MS lounges in T3 are terrible. If you ever pass through again and can walk through T2 do so! In fact, MS operates certain routes and sometimes uses the check in facilities of T2 for their routes to their "flagship" destinations like Dubai, London etc and their North American routes. Looking forward to hearing about the mess that was CAI during the clock change. 🤭

Ref the rain in Dubai: Kevin, my daughter lives in Dubai and the Dubai authorities are trying to see if they can grow vegetables or fruit, so are clod seeding with potassium and sodium chloride to induce rainfall. She tells me that sometimes it falls as a light drizzle, sometimes very heavy. The issue is that there are few drain, so the rods flood. Also the houses are not designed for rainfall and the roofs can leak. Enjoy your stuff, thanks, Kevin.

As an Egyptian, I'd say EgyptAir is always the airline with a nice little "gotcha" at every random turn like those bathrooms. Language isn't an issue for me, but for their flight to the world's most diverse airport, they couldn't send any English-speaking cabin crew? Come on! It also doesn't make sense to me why they're a dry airline. The country is not religious enough to warrant such a policy. CAI is definitely not an airport to transit through, however if you have a substantial layover in business class, you can get a free hotel booking at Le Meridien across the parking lot from T3. Their lounges are an embarrassment, and have you heard those announcements? Obnoxiously loud. Also, last time I was there the language at least in Arabic used to say "EgyptAir announces the departure of flight ____ to ____. Please go to gate". That first half of the announcement is always a nice little shock, because it makes you think you missed your flight! Fun!
@tfft9 ай бұрын
I have the Le Meridien booked on my own for an upcoming short layover- but now hearing that MS chose that hotel, it makes me wonder if I should choose a different one haha.
