Got to love Egyptian airports. Flew out of one last year and there were additional security checks on hand luggage at the departure gate which was causing some consternation with the passengers. My wife (because she's very good at this sort of thing) turned to the security guard and said "It's not your fault and thankyou for doing your job" and he smiled and waved us through without so much as a glance at our luggage.

Last time I was at this airport was in 1956. Flew Swissair on a Douglas DC-7 to Geneva with a stop in Athens for breakfast. Meals were served on pillows. Left at around 1 AM. I remember walking up the stairs still.

Actually... the airport attendant who realizing the confusion gave you the best advice ever... "go to the gate!" Ps. I just spent two pleasant evenings at the Novotel Nha Trang. They now provide a pair of flip flops in the rooms with each flip flop having a different color presumably to reduce "disappearance". But I can only guess that the disappearance has got worse because they are being sold in the gift shop with the two separate colors!

On end of October they switch off day light saving so flight time was 12:25 but was switched back to 11:25 and some clocks in the airport didn’t switch back because the daylight configs aren’t 100% shared to all time servers (so even some phones switch to new time and some remain depending on the maker/carrier combo). The reason is they spontaneously decided to use daylight saving that year and even they communicate the start/end dates of the daylight saving months or even weeks before it starts or ends. The whole airport hasn’t had any major upgrades since 2008 roughly so that’s why it is in that shape and why it doesn’t have a real lounge, you would understand more if you read through the contemporary and current political scene in Egypt. Same goes for why the aircrafts are old but clean

I didn't know Egypt follows DST hahaha. (it's not where one would imagine there is considering the weather there is stereotyped to be sunny and daylight all year.) Regardless I'll try to guess what happened based on my a little bit of searching. On 27 Oct 2023 00:00 (or 26 Oct 2023 24:00), Egypt/Cairo switches its time zone from UTC+03:00 to UTC+02:00. (meaning the second after 2023-10-26T23:59:59(UTC+03:00), it becomes 2023-10-26T23:00:00(UTC+02:00), again.) Jordan/Amman uses UTC+03:00 year-round), which makes it even more confusing. Hence at 2:06 of the video, technically it's not possible to tell whether it's 23:10 Amman time or 00:10 (the next day) Amman time. Maybe if there was a UTC time stamp, it will make everything easier (20:10 UTC vs 21:10 UTC). I think at 6:50 FR24 shows the time more accurately, with the flight's accurate STD and ETD being 00:25 and 00:37 respectively. Anyway, great video as always!

Yes- some said in comments, "follow the display board times since they're automatically updated and the other clocks need to be updated manually..." ... I'd generally agree with that comment except for the fact that things were in reverse. The manual clocks were displaying the earlier times and the fact that the display boards didn't show the correct times meant that they actually changed the "time" of departure for all of the flights. Was a mess.

What do you mean by NEW resort, and how many resorts are you comparing it to. Would always trust the monitors that are at least showing both time and flights. The red LED clocks are probably done manually. Interesting that the change occured at midnight. In most other countries its between 2am and 3am with clocks moving forward or back.
@tfft
@tfft 7 ай бұрын
From how I understand it, the clocks were meant to go reverse one hour “1 second after 23:59:59” on 26 October. Problem was I got there around 22:00 on 26 October and the times were already different. Considering the time was falling back, you’d assume the later time would be on the manual clocks and the earlier on the display boards, but it was the other way around.

This is funny as hell UNTIL someone actually misses their flight due to this failure. TBH, I don't understand why they bother with daylight savings time anymore. Just stick with one and be done with it. It's not like having different time zones is confusing enough! 😅. Oh yea, is that a Boeing or Airbus? At 3:52, that's the first time I noticed what seems to be either the fuel fill neck between the wing and fuselage or lights? Next video; The hunt for the elusive double gold painted flip flops in a hotel review. When that time comes, you WILL bow down to your flip flop god. 🤣

I am sorry but as an Egyptian I have to fix this information, There is actually no way that is terminal 3, that is terminal 2 but it’s fine and for the time. Time at the end of October changes, seeing that you do many videos about EgyptAir. if your traveling from Egypt to anywhere else at the end of October. Note that the time WILL change from 12:00 AM Back to 11:00 PM 00:00 To 23:00 (Military time) Why isn’t there much business class passengers? Because if Egypt hosts a flight to another country that is ARAB nobody will pay for business class because it will be a waste of money. Thank you for reading And enjoy your EgyptAir flight!

Good thing you avoided actually visiting Egypt, a terrible place for foreign tourists. The security alone will drive you nuts.

I've been to Egypt quite a few times and throroughly disagree. Security is tight, sure, but it's certainly no more of a bother than many other places on earth.

@@tfft I always can be standed corrected. And I defer to your opinion because you've actually been there and I haven't. But I've seen many travel vlogs which indicate Egypt is a hassle. even at hotels where they inspect your bags etc.

About the travel blogs, you are certainly correct. All I will say is, when it comes to content on KZbin, you see what the creator wants you to see and nothing more. It applies to me as well, but that’s why I try to balance out my coverage. Case in point. In anticipation of visiting Karachi, I watched a few trip reports from there. In all of them, the airport seems like an absolute hell hole. In reality? It was absolutely gorgeous and for the most part kept in pristine condition with original chandeliers, inlaid tile work, perfectly upholstered seating, comfortable lounges, etc.

That cabin color combination is rather strange. Light blue and off gold do not actually match. Looks like a dated and very drab combination.

I believe that you made the whole thing up. I think you’re nothing but a liar thank you if you wanna make a video you should be honest and sincere. I think you made a video based on your own lies just to make Egypt air and Cairo airport look bad.

The time my phone said was irrelevant if it was different from the time the airport was following.

Annoying,distracting and unnecessary background music. I would rather just hear the sound of the environment you are in at the time. Unsubscribed
