.. Wow! This place feels very exotic! I like the music you paired with the pan of the restaurant, overall, the food looked strange but I had a feeling that it would taste a lot better than it looked. Great video, Eric, and I'm looking forward to next week for the next video. ^-^

Wow, what a great food experience this was. The music, the setting, the crockery, the service and of course that amazing looking food. To be honest, I thought I knew a thing or two about Egyptian food, but this feast was at a whole different level to what I've experienced. So good on you Eric. I didn't manage to catch the price. It sounded like Eric said seventy dollars but I can't be sure. If it's 70, would that be for 2 people? I'm so pleased that you went there and gave it a try. You have certainly given me the idea to try Egyptian food next time I'm in the big city such as Brisbane or Sydney, hopefully Tokyo. Thanks again Eric.
@ericsurf67 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bill and yes, $70 for two people.
@Cardzworld7127 жыл бұрын
In all honesty that's not too bad, considering the amount of food you got.
@BelloBudo0077 жыл бұрын
You could be right Ninten. There were others there enjoying their meals and the place is still in business, which suggests they must be doing something right. Tokyo with it's quality and variety is a real foodies Nirvana. So for me anyway, 70 big ones would need to wait for a pretty special occasion.

I'm a little surprised at the price. Here in Multi-cultural Canada, Egyptian, Turkish, middle Eastern, even Mediterranean food is often well priced. Family style servings are generally reasonable and tasty. Maybe they saw you coming? 😉

The round brown one is called falafel and it is made of beans and garbenzo. The green soup is not spinach , it is a green leaf called moloukhiya but it is made not in a proper way and that is why it look like that. The other one that it is like hommous is called baba ghanooj and is made from egg plant and sesame cream and oil called Tahina. The grape leaf and hommous and baba ghanooj are Lebanese actually but Egyptians do it not in the right way, you should try it in a Lebanese restaurant.

@AhmadAboulFarag7 жыл бұрын
The molokheya (Green soup) should be eaten on top of rice...not by itself...also you should never unwrap the mahshi (grape leaves wraps)...and the Um Ali should not be mixed as the crispy layer on top is the best part...and it should be thicker than this...but the video is awesome and I think you have delivered a good experience...thank you.
@ЄвгенК-у9л7 жыл бұрын
Cookie it's was falafel
@radeedrad54587 жыл бұрын
they called ta'mai rather than chickpeas it is made from Fava beans. I think that plate had both hummus and baba ghanuosh eggplant spread. the molokhaya grass in the green soup is a bet sticky and gluey yet it is tasty and warm. it is simmered into chicken broth with some roasted garlic. as for mousaqa it has some minced meat and white sauce at the top. as for fish Egyptian are good at grilling it. they sometime marinate the fish with lemon cuman red and green chilli some ginger and garlic some pepper and allspice blend with nutmeg. I doubt they will ever tell you the recipes.
