in the middle kingdom, they had a semitic population of immigrations, but the culture of the Ancient Kemetian is derived from the Bantu(blacks) including magic and to worship their primordial god(set) they dyed their hair red, the colour associated with Setesh. Across the continent this figure is still worshiped. For instance you have Eshu, in Nigeria. Same exact associations, including the name SetESHU and ESHU.

Yes - a first wave of "Egyptians" moved up from Africa in late Neolithic and settled first in Napta Playa, then in the Nile Valley. Other Neolithic population groups also moved to Nile valley and the later high culture is a mix. What is more difficult to prove is what features of the later Egyptian culture were then re-exported back to "Africa" / Hausa etc.

Big Dipper is a star particularly associated with the god Set(h) - this particular image uses grpahic elements from the Theban Magical Library and spells connected withSeth - the "line" is from that spell. Not all modern books have noticed this correspondence - so if you want more information and sources see my book "The Bull of Ombos", which has a chapter on that.

Interesting question - names of practitioners male or female - can you quote the passage as the context might help i wondered if he meant the Hippo Goddess often associated with Seth and things magical?

For example "Kingship" may have developed amongst the early settlers _after_ they were established in proto cities of the Nile Valley such as Ombos (Citadel of Seth) etc. I am already in print on the connection between the Neolithic cattle cult and the Seth - and hope you can say more about that - maybe on a blog or more easily accessible space than the comments here which could be lost . . .

Depends on what you mean by "above" - as pole star marks most northeley point around which solar system rotates and indeed the pole star changes over the millenia - current is Polaris but is sometimes one of stars in Draco - and sometimes there is no polarstar ... ru still reading Victorian Theosophist Massey? If so which one - his work is not the most reliable guides the Egyptian mythology...

The ancient Egyptians were an ethnic mix of population groups, including but not exclusively black. Classical sources refer to attacks on red headed "Sethians". Egypt's most famous King, Ramses II probably had red hair, and may well have had ethnic "Sethian" ancestry. I assume some African population groups include those with red hair too?

It's all a question of interpreting very ancient archeaological finds before written records - but AFAIK - the "African" model of Kingship may well be a product of this part of Nile Valley. Kingship is after all the product of ancient inequalities arising after the so-called Neolithic revolution in food production. I don't see any reason in principal why ideas and concepts should not migrate both ways?
@lordifrit6912 жыл бұрын
hmm, i don't think it was ever imported back, as it was native to the rest of Africa way before Egypt. You had the cattle worship of Ancient Nubia, which predates Ancient Egypt by 4,000 years. According to Ancient Egyptian culture, when cattle is associated to a god or king, it shows the importance of that god or king. Not all the gods were "gods". Why do Osiris wear Horus white crowns? Where they the 1st kings of Ancient Nubia and was that worship made local to the latter Egypt?
