Make sure you bring your own water...or you'll pay a hell of a lot for a small bottle. If you're getting pestered too much, make up your own language and you'll be left alone. Camel trips are fun, but it's the end price that will change the way you deal with these guys. Walk around the pyramids and get some extra fitness for the day.

lol how much for a bottle i thought it would be around 5 egyptian pounds

Kara & Nate - you guys are amazing! I cant imagine myself producing a vlog this good and this informative after losing all my footage. Yes, I've been there, bought the Tshirt. I used to produce corporate and political work (36+ yrs) and have blown it embarrassingly a coupla times - not with your grace and positivity though! Kara's goofiness and creative edits, and Nates amazing videography blows me away. You are the benchmark. Love you guys. More strength to you! Keep on keeping on...

I found your vlogs when I was preparing for my Bangkok trip. I started from the beginning over the summer and have finally caught up. I've finally decided why I prefer yours over any others....I am originally from Nashville so that might have something to do with it...Nope...You guys just are so straight forward and no hype and artsy crap. As Anthony Bourdain said....Be a traveler not a tourist and you are travelers. Like you when I travel I go to get lost. Thanks for the entertainment and knowledge.

I know the feeling well. I went on a cruise around the Nile in 1990. We went to Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Israel. When I sent off my films to be developed everything came back blank. The annoying thing was I’d just bought a new camera and tested it before I went. I was so heartbroken 😭 I did get my friends to get copies of their photos. However I was more interested in the architecture and took pictures of building etc. Whereas my friends had taken lots of pictures of boys and their camera work was rubbish. Still it was better than nothing. I’ve always wanted to go back and hoped to do some of the same experiences again. However I have loved your vlogs on the places where I went and it’s reminded me of some fun times! So thank you 😊 Got to say, only discovered you a couple of weeks ago and I can’t stop watching your videos. Can’t wait for the world to open again and see where you go to next 😀

I just got back a week ago from Egypt. I am a solo female traveler and Egypt was NOT SAFE for me to travel alone. On the cruise and with a tour I was ok, but the 6 days I was alone, I was: sexually assaulted, had guards and hotel staff (men) try to enter my room and I was consistently hassled on the street. I went there because all these KZbinrs were saying how safe it was but you guys get perks. Yes I would suggest people go, but pay for a tour and a guide the whole time. Get out of Cairo as fast as you can, as it is so rough. I have traveled all over and hands down Egypt was the hardest country I have ever been to.

I had the chance to visit Egypt last year and I found it interesting that you guys could only go into the Great Pyramid Our tour group got the chance to go inside the largest and the smallest pyramids, the middle one was closed for safety reasons. This vlog definitely made me nostalgic and I really cannot wait to go back to this beautiful country.

I think this was actually better than a full day of pyramid footage! Your tips were spot on, the photos were great, and there are thousands of POV videos of the site, anyway. More interesting would be walking around the city of Giza, and getting impressions of that.

Such a shame that you lost some footage. But you create so much stuff - (my great compliments for this) - that I suppose it was inevidible that something would go wrong sometime. And there are worse things that could have happened though, aren't there? Keeping safe and well is the most important thing of all. And not getting your gear stolen or destroyed is I think a good second. The video you did manage to make is fine as well. Enjoy the rest of your trip. You are always very much worth watching. You got me addicted to travel vids actually. I not only follow you now, but 5 or 6 others as well. There is quite a community of you wandering vloggers.

Oh gosh! You loosing your footage brought me back bitter memories of a similar situation this past December. Working for a school project which was due this past January, had to fly back home ASAP to work on editing videos, once at home i came to the heartbreaking discovery that all the footage taken, wasn’t in my flash drive. I had spent no less than $3k on that trip exclusively for this purpose and just to come to find out that the footage wasn’t there. It was sickening and absolutely heartbreaking. TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND YOU, GUYS! Thank you for making the best out of this bittersweet experience.

You are so good about your apologies for little to no video, we just want you two anyway, so keep telling us about your adventures. Giza grew towards the pyramides because it is closer to the tourists which is why they are so near a city. (Orlando and Kissimmee grew closer to Disney World for the same reasons, and tripled in size)

Thanks for a great video. When I was visiting the pyramids in the 1960's they were isolated in the desert. The growth of Giza and Cairo has brought development very close! The only building near the pyramids in 1966 was one selling water and soft drinks. You either had to walk up a long hill to the pyramid or take a camel ride!

Great video, really enjoyed it. I lived in Cairo some years ago and it brought back many fond memories. Whenever friends visited me there, I always took them to the pyramids. The evening sound 'n light show is a little hokey (the commentary), but it is still worth it as the voice points out that the ground you are walking on was walked on by Napoleon and Alexander the Great!

I realize it may be different now, but I was there in Giza back in '86--alone. Seeing what you saw, I wish I'd had a guide, but that wasn't even on my radar at the time. I was taken to a locals hotel on arrival from the airport, and took the city bus to Giza. The bus was jammed to the rafters, but nobody hassled me at all. After finishing that evening in Giza, I took the bus back to Tahrir Square, at which point I'd planned to walk down a block or so to my hotel. It looked totally different than in daylight, and I was lost for about 90 min. I finally came across a Burger King, stopped in to eat, and asked if anyone knew where my hotel was located. When I finished eating, the young grill guy came out and walked me back to my hotel, and absolutely no monetary thank you taken. In other words, the Egyptians in general couldn't have been more gracious, and I felt totally safe.

I found this video much more useful than the rest of yours. I hope you make more vids with tips, instead of just showing us what you saw, like you usually do.
