Egyptian STREET FOOD In Cairo!

We tried Egyptian STREET FOOD in Cairo. From koshary, hawawshi and even really delicious Egyptian sweet pie, to an all out Egyptian feast where we ordered (much) more than we could handle. The street food in Cairo is excellent and there are sooo many options. Prices for street food are also exceptionally low, especially for the portion sizes that you get (warning: they are huge). For just a few dollars, you can eat all the Egyptian street food you could finish in a day. Cairo really surprised us as a foodie destination and we're already looking forward to the day we return to Cairo to eat more delicious local food.

My suggestions to you is do visit RISHIKESH(Hire a scooter there and), MANALI, ANANDPUR SAHIB, CHANDIGARH, RAJASTHAN, GOA And NORTH EAST INDIA &SIKKIM...KERALA Actualy Whole of india is worth to visit. Just Avoid Cities and overly Crowded places and cities..

Wonderful. As much as the sights and things to do in a new city are to be experienced, the local food is an excellent way to experience local culture. Always eat with the locals. The food, the smells, the rituals, the ambience. You have shown it all.

@@kejmat we did really enjoy Cairo. I guess we were expecting the chaos and the noisiness and dustiness to be part of the experience a little and in a way add some charm. I think if you look at it that way, it makes it pretty cool :)

Much of the food presented (kuchary, moloakhia, hawashi) is top notch and a must try. Besides that, there is nothing much to offer. Personally I find local Egyptian dishes to be bland and salty. The juice bars are great though, especially the cane juice. Great video.

Awesome video. El Brince (The Prince), where you had you last meal in this video, is my favorite restaurant in Cairo/Imbaba. if you go there again, you gotta try a dish called Warakit Lahma. It's basically a spicy meat dish, with onions, tomatoes and green pepper. Trust me, you will love it, I highly recommend it. It's delicious. If you go to Alexandria, try a restaurant called Balba'a. It's got a couple of branches, and their food is great.

Expat back 30 yrs ago who lived in Cairo for about 3 yrs, I can tell you that there are still many back ally joints who serve very cheap & health food, even just a kabab Wii vegetables and bread 🍞....

Nick dear, the dessert you ate at the confectionery store is not Sambusek, it's called Basbusa. Sambusek is a savory pasty often filled with cheese and sometimes cheese. It's mostly eaten in Lebanon and Syria.

what you bought at Elabd Sweetshop is not sambousak. It is Basbousa. Sambousak is a savory snack (pastry stuffed with cheese or ground meat)

That hawawshi was actually prepared with traditional Egyptian bread called baladi. The dessert you got from El Abd is called basbousa, not to be confused with sambousak which is fried stuffed sheets of dough. Love this video, though. Hope you had a great time.

By the way , you ate Basbousa in the video not Sambusek .Sambusek is a savoury food that is served as an appetizer at most restaurants and especially in Ramadan . Basbousa is all year round favourite dessert in Egypt . As you said it is made of semolina and is usually covered with melted sugar syrup and topped with an almond .

Wish I was in Egypt to help you around but I'm currently in Germany :)) My favorite dessert in Egypt is not a traditionally Egyptian one. I really like the natural ice cream they offer in a shop called Koueidar. It is a really old favorite for my whole family , my mom used to eat the ice cream there when she was younger too ( it opened in the start of the 1900s). nice video guys , i only wanted to say that "molokhia" is usually eaten with rice not alone, so you put it on rice and eat, and i personally like very much molokhia with rice and salad and chicken or meat, and also many people eat molokhia with bread, and actually sometimes i like to take the molokhia as it is and drink id
