Hello Egyptology lovers!𓏤
If you strive to a single goal with tenacity and conviction, you will achieve you goal!
But I finally found a true Cyperus Papyrus of the ancient Egyptians. An old gentleman was growing them in his garden, he had four pots and I bought them all! Hurray! The hunt is over.𓏤
I stopped off at a garden store, purchase another ancient Egyptian plant...the water-Lilly, which open during the day and closes at night...this always seems by the ancient as a symbol of birth and rebirth 𓆸𓆹𓆸𓆹𓆸𓆹𓆸𓆹𓆸𓆹𓆸𓆹
Watch this video on how I replant, gather the seeds and propagate the plant. I have seed from the plant if you want, which I can mail to anyone. If interested.𓏤
Cyperus papyrus (papyrus, papyrus sedge, paper reed, Indian matting plant, Nile grass) is a species of aquatic flowering plant belonging to the sedge family Cyperaceae. It is a tender herbaceous perennial, native to Africa, and forms tall stands of reed-like swamp vegetation in shallow water.𓏤

I live in Australia and I’ve been looking for papyrus plants at every nursery and online but I can’t find any. I’ve recently noticed while driving by, that a house down the street that has one in the front yard. I’m honestly tempted to ask for a cutting or something to propogate. Does the upside down method really work?

You could always ask people and you might sell it to you or they’ll just give you a plant… The upside down technique works for a different breed Papyrus not the same as the Cyprus

Yes, the upside down method does work. It works for most Cyperus species. Though most videos show Cyperus alternifolia, using the same method on Cyperus papyrus has worked for me, though the success rate was really low. Cyperus prolifer is a dwarf look-a-like, which does really well with the upside down method.

It varies, they’re very hard to grow and depending on the soil and weather
