Okay, I delved pretty deep into this game and have some spoiler free tips ;) - This game has MANY endings. Some are good, and some are bad, as you have already seen in pt 1 :) - You don't necessarily NEED to use lethal injections. If you are able to determine the ailment of the other animals, you can use the experimental medications. On this note if the mutation has been fed a meal this only takes 1 injection of the experimental medication - if it has not been fed a meal (still in mutation) it will take all three injections! - If you donate blood, it completely depletes what is in your inventory. You are still able to draw blood from animals after you first draw. - The infected meal prep is extremely handy. If you use this the mutation will calm down, changing it back for a time. Gives you enough time to draw blood to create antidote. - Without spoilers, some characters in this game you are able to interact more with. - Animals can see when you aim down at them. If you shoot at the 🍑 then they are less likely to run off (doesn't count for mutations) Hope this helps a little bit! Glad to see you posting the game John :)

You can figure out which animal has the mutant infection quite quickly if you look out for symptoms of the ill animals. For instance, the wallabies that were throwing up were Sally, Penny (I think?), and Amy. Both Sally and Penny had symptoms like high temp, but Amy seemed perfectly healthy. She was mimicking the other illness when she kept being sick.

The wallabies are always sick, you didn't mess anything up. Also the blood taking works like petting - if they're stationary (green icon) you can do it. It's harder to make but feeding the mutant so it calms down protects the other animals in the meantime while you prepare it. @@clarachambers783 I've seen 3 playthroughs and the animals after the tutorial are always throwing up. The game assumes that players actually WANT to know how to play. They’ve put all of the info you need in the posters on the walls around the facility. John just chooses to never read them, either by clicking them and disregarding them or by not interacting with them at all (in the same way as the multiple vials he missed around the area).
@samwisegamgee124325 күн бұрын
@@MorningGloryDancer that's still bad game design. If your tutorial material blends into the environment ambience, you can't blame players for missing it. Compare this game's design to Crow Country, which also had tutorial type hints in the form of wall posters in the game. Players were more likely to check them out because the walls were otherwise sparse and the lighting was normal, making the posters stand out.
@MorningGloryDancer24 күн бұрын
@@samwisegamgee1243 I don’t know that I’d call it “bad” game design when you tell the player straight up that you’re not going to hold their hand and you expect them to figure stuff out for themselves. The posters may not be as colorful and eye-catching s you’d like them to be, but that’s probably because they look pretty out of place in this dark world if they were. However, the devs did give the players a nice big bright neon green square that pops up whenever you glance over something that you can interact with. Were there more engaging ways to impart this knowledge to the player? Yeah, perhaps with clarifying language and employee orientation resources. But, it’s not “bad” game design to expect more independence from your player and then trust them to make an effort.

But I'm sorely disappointed in the end product. Most of the models are kind of lame for me, I love the Giraffe and I get the gorilla, but all the others just seem like all different parasites if that makes sense? I was also really let down by the fact that you HAVE to replay it over and over again to progress. I feel like it would've benefited to have you actually go to all of the enclosures and get to know all the animals and care for them. THEN, the parasites start spreading. You have to hurry and figure out how to stop it, and how to figure out which animal is the parasite or maybe you could be too late and have an entire enclosure of parasites to deal with. And let it be an end game reveal that this zoo has been experimenting, and the doc finally went crazy and let the mother out. It would've been a really cool subversion, you would've went from a zoo keeping sim to a sudden survival horror and you have to have urgency to SAVE THE ANIMALS. Idk I think they really dropped the ball here, and I see people quitting out before actually getting access to the entire game

Considering reviews I have seen on the released game, the pacing is super weird. They have all the beats of slowly realizing that something isn't right; through the notes, cutting up the meat brick, the hand and intestines jumpscare in the biowaste filter, it should all be leading up to "solent green is people!" moment, but instead they spoil it within the first hour of gameplay through a humdrum phonecall with a deadpan ai voice. The same goes for the mutations and parasite. It's like the writers said "everyone already knows it's monster horror, so let's cut to the chase."

for $25 I think people are being too hard on it, if it was sold and advertised as some AAA $80 game then I think it would deserve the hate but its an indie game at a fair price, it has some rough edges but I've played much much worse games
@ItsHaisho3 ай бұрын
@taco2p Personally, I don't think the price really matters. At the end of the day, people paid for this game, and even if it were only a couple bucks (it's not - especially nowadays $25 is a decent chunk of change for many people), people are allowed to be unsatisfied with a product they paid for, especially if it doesn't look the same as it was advertised. It's upsetting to pay for something, thinking you're going to get something completely different from what you actually got. Although I haven't bought the game myself, I am definitely disappointed with what I've seen of it. It has a very strong start that quickly falls apart once the infected animals are introduced imo.

@@taco2p I think for $25 people are being realistic with their criticism, especially considering how much the devs themselves hyped up the game. It had an interesting premise and the graphics and mutation designs look cool. But the choppy production quality, bugs, and unclear gameplay hold back the game from being great, and these are all valid criticisms for a game regardless of whether they're AAA or indie releases. _"I've played much much worse games"_ shouldn't be a pass for a mediocre release. The devs should've focused on the development longer before they did the marketing.

I’d get this game just to pet the animals; they are TOO CUTE! 🩷 Little Penny’s face as you pet her after taking her blood made me melt!

There was a cool concept here, but the gameplay loop looks like it gets pretty tedious. Paul also doesn’t act how pretty much anyone thrown into this sort of situation would.
@coffeemode21593 ай бұрын
I like it a bit less this time too. The concept is still really cool and I like the monster designs, but it feels like it could get repetitive. Doc's voice acting is off-putting and the pacing is pretty weird. I can see why people keep thinking it's AI voiced (Pretty sure it isn't. At least that's what the dev has said and apparently Doc's voice actor has like a web page or something) If it's expecting you to play through multiple times to progress I guess that kind of makes it like Mortuary Assistant. I think it worked better in that game though.
@samwisegamgee12433 ай бұрын
@@coffeemode2159 I think Mortuary Assistant had enough variation and random small events to keep things interesting and unique during each autopsy. For this game, your interaction at each animal enclosure is largely the same, and the small tasks are more tedious than they are interesting.

I live in australia, I've never seen wallabies that big Anyway, really enjoying this series - even if it isn't always very clear what the player is supposed to do Edit: huh?? That ending at 25:00 was very jarring. I understand it's part of the gameplay loop, but still. Feel like that could be better communicated.

They also have you feed the giraffes way down low, which isn't normal either. I had initially thought it was supposed to show, subtly, that the animals are being abused, but given the sloppiness of the rest of the game, I think I was giving them way too much credit 😬 They really should have let this one cook for a while longer

I mean this was the same studio behind "Sparky Marky" (failed & incredibly mid mascot horror game), so I'm kinda not surprised. I think they have a problem with taking kind of interesting premises and executing them super poorly. This is just speculation, but I think they run their studio by making a cool trailer, gathering hype, rushing the game, and then releasing a disappointing result. Rinse & repeat.
