Could you please help me I purchased this filter for my axolotl tank but I find it the current is quite strong and axolotls do not like a lot of strong current , is there a way that I can make it slower somehow ?

I recently bought the Pickup 160. The bottom front panel/grill of the filter doesn't really suck detritus in. In fact i've noticed that it pushes detritus away from it most of the time with only a very small section of the grill sucking in detritus and even than, the suction is very weak! I've also noticed that most of the time it only suck detritus in from the side of the filter and even then the suction is also weak but at least it doesn't push detritus away. From my understanding, the inflow is supposed to be from the front and side. I've checked that everything is in the correct working order and didn't notice anything that could have caused this problem. The outflow is very strong, just that the intake especially from the front is almost non existent. Did you notice any of the issues i've mentioned in your filter?

Yes I agree and only had the filter set up a week ago, doing a fishless cycle at the moment (sand substrate)!! I also notice the filter sounding more noisy and wondering whether that could be sand trapped inside. Read loads of good reviews about it but not impressed so far. Has your filter improved?

@@naddyn685 It's about the same. It did pick up detritus over time though not as efficiently as i was expecting it to be. I think the reason why it is not sucking in detritus properly is because the impeller is situated at the bottom or the front grill area of the filter. The back n forth twisting motion of the impeller may be causing it to at times push detritus away instead of sucking it into the filter. I'm guessing it would have been different if it was situated at the top part of the filter.

I have this filter, just letting you know this is not shrimp safe lol. I have small shrimps who get stuck in the filter and I dont know what to do

@Splashing Around Yup i used a filter net, but because of that the filter didnt really work as a filter anymore since it cant suck in anything except small stuff. Also all my shrimps just died, some of them even crawled out of my aquarium...I dont think its the water that killed them, because my fish didnt die. Also dont think it was my fish that killed the shrimps, I bought fish that doesnt attack shrimps. I was really shocked when i woke up one morning and found a dead shrimp on my floor

This water filter is just the water officer and breathes the air that you can spray into the water!
