This is from Uworld: "Ehrlichia chaffeensis is harbored by white-tailed deer in the southwestern, southeastern, and mid-Atlantic United States. It is transmitted to humans by tick bite (eg, lone star tick) and subsequently spreads to tissue rich in mononuclear cells (eg, bone marrow, lymph nodes, liver, spleen), leading to nonspecific symptoms (eg, fever, chills, myalgia, headache), maculopapular rash, and significant laboratory abnormalities (eg, lymphopenia, thrombocytopenia, elevated aminotransferases). E chaffeensis replicates in membrane-bound vacuoles within the cytoplasm of monocytes and can be visualized on peripheral blood or buffy coat examination as mulberry-shaped, intraleukocytic inclusions(morulae). Treatment with antibiotics (eg, doxycycline) is usually curative." So they say that a maculopapular rash is present. But overall Physeo is AMAZING, and if I knew about it during MS1 I would've used it.

@@JoseMunoz-dw3zf Lone star tick and ixodes are two different types of tick. The latter is associated with anaplasmosis (lyme +babesia)

Hello, may I ask if Ehrlichiosis has a chronic phase in humans? Many internet articles suggest that it is self-limiting and not long-term. I have "weak" IgG antibodies for Ehrlichia. Doctors have informed me that it's a past infection and already resolved. However, we don't have many doctors in my country, and their expertise may be limited. I am in need of a professional opinion regarding this matter. Thank you!

Hi I think this video contains a major error. Anaplasma is carried by the ixodes tick but not Ehrlichia. As the previous commentor pointed out, it’s most commonly transmitted by the lone star tick.

Its correct, these are a bit confuse.... 1.Ehrilicia chaffeensis ←lone startick{amblyoma} lives in white tail deer. 2.Ehrilichia phagocytophilia, babesia,borrelia,anaplasma ←ixodes deer tick. 3.R.Rickettsi ←( dog tick) dermacentor 4.F.tularnsis← (Dogtick n wood tick) dermacentor,rabbits,deerflies
