I have the original Pitch Fork on my board. It is AMAZING for harmonies, and it REALLY makes my shimmer reverb come to life. For guitar, I have it set to pitch DOWN, either as a perfect 5th chord, or octave down. For bass, I do the opposite. Set it to pitch UP, either as a perfect 5th chord, or octave up. As for the blend knob, set that to 25%. Your shimmer reverb will thank you.

Totally agree. The magic (for guitar) is somewhere on the down pitch, high pitch should be half less in the overall signal, just to clear a bit the muddyness. But with the PF+, we can do that simultaneously. We'll have it mid february in Europe. Can't wait. And the good news is: with the "old" one and the PF+, it makes 3 pitches running in series. Some crazy stuff should come out :p) And by the way, you indeed have to lower the mix to get all chords sound ok, but it's an amazing pedal. Never play cleans without it for a long time.

@@ThatBaritoneGuitarGuy I'll do some experiments in february with the 3 pitches. Should be funny. If someone from EHX ever read this line: is there a way to filter low ends (for the Pitch Fork +V2), to avoid pitching (too hard) low E and A strings? Gets even worse on 7/8 string instruments. Often you let go a setting only because of the bass strings, although strings D to high E sound interesting. EDIT : thinking about it, a high pass filter could be usefull too, to tame the high E string "harsh" on +12 or +24 settings. Just saying. Thanks

With such a great ear it really surprises me that the pitchfork is your go to shifter. I’ve played them all and Digitech’s Whammy-specifically Bass Whammy in Chord Mode-is BY FAR the most natural sounding. It isn’t even close if you’re after a natural sounding shift. The pitchfork sounds like a synth organ or something. The Whammy sounds like a guitar/bass. I’ve gotten my Jazz Bass to sound like a Tele with it. And it tracks perfectly. Just my 2 cents.

Hi DLC...thanks for that.....im trying to achieve natural guitar power chord sounds (Les Paul preferably) by playing single strings on my bass. Currently doing all the research on how best to add to my single original Pitchfork. You think the Digitech Bass Whammy would be best for the sound im looking for? I figure I can switch over, mid song, to my Pitchfork for guitar solo sounds..........maybe that too is an easy transition within the Whammy? Cheers

With my new pedalboard assembled, I am in the market for a pitch shifter that can give me two separate pitch shifts in stereo, with one routed to each channel, plus the dry in both. Primarily, I’d be using a slight detune pitch shift for a chorus-like effect, less the modulation, and shifted up a perfect 5th for playing leads. Expression pedal use would be a plus, but not essential. Smaller size and less weight would be a plus too, because my large pedalboard is looking like it might be a back breaker if I populate it full of the heaviest pedals. So between these two pedals, any recommendations for my needs. Low noise is important too. I’ll do strength training before hauling noisy pedals around.

I also own the original, but don't use it for guitar. I use it with synths. The bandwidth of the pedal is really low, so it's not hi-fi. It uses lots of closely spaced overlapping windows so it smears out sharp transients mushing up the sound. It's not quality pitch shifting at all.

There are no artifacts whatsoever when pitchshifting and almost no latency. The main thing about pitch shift pedals is tracking even if you're playing like Yngve Malmstein. The Boss OC-2 greatly failed at that while the TC subnup focused on that in the design. The Brainwaves sounds great. Does the pitchfork track as well as the subnup? The pitch fork plus has a slight and I mean slight volume drop with a very almost unnoticeable shadow over the tone.
