The V7's have a classic look that just appeals to the heart.

V7 has some new bits... Upside down forks (reduced unsprung mass) - Sport only An extra front disc (extra unsprung mass) - Sport only Lighter wheels (1.2kg each I heard - reduced rotational weight and unsprung mass) Ride by wire (which allows...) Cruise control & More defined ride modes And an IMU so cornering ABS. It's more than just paint for that model.

The Italians really know how to style a motorcycle. I had a 1200 Guzzi for over ten years and it was always a favourite with my family. My riding has changed over the years and now I enjoy more back-country, offroad/dirt road riding with my Yamaha T7, so something like a spiced up V85 with 18/21 wheels and put on a diet, would get my attention.

The Italians know the styling. The Japanese know build quality. The Germans know the engineering. The Chinese know how to undercut on price. The English know how to over price every bike and the Indians know nostalgia. Now make all of them into one and you've got something

I wish that would make the perfect bike... though if I was to pick my 5 favourite drinks and make one by mixing them together, I'd probably give up drinking! 🤣

@@PeakMotorcycles Haha, that would be so true. I guess my view is very much tainted by the country I live in. Australia has over 400,000 kilometres of unsealed roads, likely the same again in unmaintained tracks, over 50,000 kilometres of coastline and nearly 12000 beaches. That is a lot of exploring over big distances where the 17/19 combo doesn't work very well, but a shaft drive would certainly be a maintenance bonus. Before I bought the T7 I would often consider building a touring machine from the Guzzi V7. From memory it was about 185kgs wet with a shaft drive, and 22 litre tank. Just needed relaced rims and suspension (and a more powerful motor to be honest). When the V85 came out, you can imagine my disappointment. Waaay too heavy and small wheels that will throw you off on the first rut or sandy corner. I am nearly over that long held dream, less likely to do the big cross country trips, so something smaller but still capable of multi-day rides in the bush is achievable. The new crop of 450s look like they could be the ticket.

The red, white & blue Stelvio looks really good and a vast improvement over the original boring colour options , interesting to see MG have deleted the analogue clocks from the V7 Special and standardised the digital instruments across the entire V7 range, that will I am sure upset the purists, disappointed MG didnt launch a V100 powered California or Le Mans , I really hoped we would get to see a new V100 based model at EICMA, I guess we will just have to wait a little longer.

A new Le Mans would be great. Next year perhaps?

So underrated as an everyday rider. Shaft drive and easily accessible and adjusted valves. Honda could still be selling the CX500 or 650 Revere.

Just catching up with a few of your Eicma videos I missed Andre. Have they now fitted that ugly clock set to all the V7 models including the Special? Such a shame.. I think it’s a mistake just like Triumph with the Speed Twin 1200… bring back the proper clocks..! Enjoyed the video though, thank you!
