So if TN-S systems are to be classed as PME due to the DNO converting them without knowing what happens to petrol forcourts that require to be a TN-S under the ATEX regulations?

Are they not TT for ATEX? Thought they were supposed to be. We will cover this next week.

No they can be TN-S as well but not PME incase of a loss of neutral which you wouldnt want on bonded fuel tanks as it will give it enough energy to cause ignition

Paul Jones I thought that was why TT. Remove spark potential. We will delve into it in future webinars but the ENA doc G12 is a good doc to start with.

@@e5Group thanks ill give it a read. Im just going off previous jobs ive had on petrol forcourts and they stated TN-S and TT were the only acceptable means of earthing. I currently work in the water industry now and we have our own 11KV-415V TX feeding our ATEX equipment and that is a TN-S arrangement (Although you could argue its a TN-C-S but not PME)

Paul Jones if you have your own Tx it is defined as TN-S pretty much only TN-S left now. It’s covered in various docs we have screenshots of sections on our Instagram page

Is it classed as Acess to live parts if everything in the junction box is IP2X but doesn’t have a lid? So the single cores with basic insulation can be touched?
