Congratulations to @aarong402 for being selected as the winner of the Whiteside CNC bit set giveaway! He will be receiving a brand new set of the 4 Whiteside bits I use the most on my CNC projects. I also want to thank everyone who left a New Year’s resolution in the comments. I was overwhelmed by the positivity and wholesomeness of the comments left by my viewers. Thank you for making this such a great, welcoming community. Stay tuned for future videos. I will likely do more of these giveaways in the future to help give back to this amazing community.

Another great video, as usual. My main woodworking goal for 2024 is to focus on organization in my shop. I started in December and I'm hoping to finish by April or May by adding french cleats to hang stuff and reorienting my dust collection. It's already proved to be much more efficient with with the few changes I've made over the last month.
@EigenDesigns
@EigenDesigns Жыл бұрын
This is a great goal, Peter. I have invested a lot of time and energy into organizing my shop (and keeping it clean) and it makes my shop a much for effecient and inviting environment to be in. I have really enjoyed my french cleat wall and find that it helps me keep track of what is missing (e.g. if something isn't on the wall it is very obvious). Building holders for each tool also helped me get rid of non-essential tools or duplicates of things that I had. Hope 2024 is a great year for you.

My goals are to get my shop organized. And to get my cnc up and running again. I haven’t touched it for a while. I have an xcarve and it’s out of square.

Mark, great video. Direct and to the point. I just ordered a Onefinity Elite Foreman CNC and in this new year I plan to learn to use this wonder machine by making plenty of mistakes and then coming back to videos like yours to see what I did wrong! (I am sure several of those mistakes will involve breaking endmills) That's how we learn isn't it?

Unfortunately, yes. Sometimes we have to learn lessons the hard way 🤣

Beautiful work! I can't tell from the video but do you use stock that's been laminated together to try and prevent warping or are you using full width milled stock?

My New Year’s Resolution is to be more intentional in all that I do. Whether it’s my job, my family, or woodworking, I want my actions to mean something rather than just going through the motions. I believe this will make my activities more enjoyable and have better outcomes. Thank you for the video. Interestingly, one of the reason I was drawn to your channel is your name, Eigen. I’m a physicist and Eigen values are extremely important in topics like quantum mechanics. Just thought that was a cool name. Thanks again.
@EigenDesigns
@EigenDesigns Жыл бұрын
I like the intentionality you’re speaking of. Each year my wife and I sit down and talk about our goals (e.g. health goals, financial goals, marriage goals, etc.) so that we can have a target to head towards. Without that, you become a product of your day-to-day decisions, which may not ultimately take you to where you want to be. I hope you’re able to achieve this in 2024. Interesting enough, Eigen Designs comes from Eigen Values and Eigenvectors. I took linear algebra in college as part of my engineering degree and the name really resonated with me. You’re one of the few people to catch that 😊

@@EigenDesigns Absolutely. If you don’t plan where you are going it could be anywhere. Yes! Eigenvectors and values were a major topic in linear algebra. I actually enjoyed that class. Love seeing other scientists on here. Thank you for your work here. Much appreciated.

My new years resolutions: become very comfortable with fusion 360 for CAM, get product into the hands of customers, and have an online store (not Etsy) Thanks for the ideas. I'll see if you have fusion cam lessons. Cheers

My New Years resolution is 40-52 KZbin videos for 2024. I don't have a CNC but I thought I'd still participate. So make sure those bits go to someone who needs them. Great video as always. May the Force be with you.

I love the ambition Logan! Question for you sir, of the 40-52 videos, how many of those do you plan to be shorts vs full length videos? I haven't been creating many shorts, but I know some content creators are using them effectively to grow their audience.
@DudeSawdust
@DudeSawdust Жыл бұрын
@@EigenDesigns Good question. I have resolved to not doing any shorts at all. I put out a bunch in the first half of 2023 and they did nothing for my channel and debatably hurt my channel. My actually goal is a video every week but I fear that is not realistic. My 14 year old son is editing all of my simpler videos and I will be editing my larger project videos. Without him I couldn't do it. Last years focus was quality over quantity and that failed so this year it is quantity + value. We'll see how it goes. So far I think it is working. I'm also working on developing a tool that I think could be a hit. So stay tuned for that.
