Honestly, I've seen the opposite more. "Hey look at my pretty picture and machine learning!" "Cool, is it repeatable? Why is it only accurate for 2 months? What's your plan for aging stuff out?" "...... Yeah but look at the animation that automatically resizes the picture!"

This is straightforward: camera, microphone, glass wall. Probably done at University or Corporation. He is being filmed through the glass wall and the video is flipped in production (which probably takes seconds) so we the viewer can read it.
