it's a songfrom a Vocaloid called Hatsune Miku , the original singer of this song and Vocaloid is not a show... it's literally a computer program that can sing some music producer use vocaloid to test their song... there are some that actually use vocaloid as main singer of their song... hope that helps

Okay, everyone was confused on the story, so I will attempt to explain it the best way I can: So Miku was friends with a boy or girl. They probably were friends from childhood, and maybe, if he was a boy, she was made fun of for being friends with someone of the opposite gender, so she acted different around him when they got older. Or possibly the friends was considered odd, and so she did what the other kids did and was mean to them. Then after she had distanced herself from him/her, he/she had passed away. (I am assuming suicide because she says, "All I wanted to do was be with you and never leave, but I can't, because I lied, then you were gone." So maybe a suicide out of lack of friends? Or bullying?) She realized her feelings for him/her after they had died, and feels so much pain and guilt for lying about her feelings for years and years. Out of pain, she begins saying things like, "Our lives are pointless, etc." Because of her loss. Then she realizes she might be telling the truth, but she doesn't know, maybe life does have a point, but all she knows is that she is living for the both of them. Very bittersweet, yet beautiful and touching. *I think a lot of the confusion was about the beginning, because she was saying nonsense, but that was because the theme was she was lying her whole life about how she felt. AHH THIS SONG IS SO SAD DX. I hope I cleared things up! And I hope you aren't too sad...

@@Randi-i9e4w It's their own interpretation but its also... very wildly complicated. Late response but, the top comment honestly irked me because it was hard to follow. The basics of the song simplified are: The singer was painfully in love with someone, but they would always cover it up and werent honest. Clearly there was some discord between the two since they drifted. In the end, the person has died (Suicide, or accident, or sickness) and The Singer is grief stricken to the point they come up with tons of contradictions (Winter is hot. Salty food is too sweet. No one dies. No one wants to change the past) in order to convince herself "Theyre not dead. I can confess. Things are fine. We. Are. Fine." In the end, The Singer gives up and accepts life is not fair. People die. God isnt real and her wishes wont come true. But, she's hopeful of the future. The Singer is going to live on for both her and her lost friend.

Her voice is so gentle in a way that synchronizes with the melody. It really compliments the tune beautifully in a subtle way which you might take for granted but, it's vivid in contrast to many other versions sung of this song. I cannot get over how beautiful this english rendition is & how each lyric as the song went on tugged at my heartstrings until the last couple verses at the end, I couldn't hold back the tears. I really like the meaning of this song. In the beginning, I like to think it's childish simpleness, where you don't understand the difference from "love" or "hate", but when you get older, you realize how terrible the world can be, filled with sadness, and despair, and losing the ones you love. Okay so the story of the song is that she loved him and she lied to him and told him that she hated him, when in fact she did love him. So when she says she telling the truth, she tells a ton of blatant lies to hint that she's actually lying. Like when she say how he's still living on with her or when she says that people are only filled with good or how they were going to live with happiness. There's also the extremely untruthful lies like how whales flew around in the stars and stuff. But, also she tells how she regrets her mistakes deeply when she says that no one has a past they want to go back and change.

You're missing a big part of it. The person she's talking about loving died. "Still living on as you breathe" was part of the lie in the early on in the song. Then at the end, "In such a pretty world we both had loved" and "just know im living on for you and me". She did lie to him, but she couldn't go back and take back her lie because he was no longer in the world to do so. This is also known because "I was a liar right up to the end". You could always go back and tell the truth, even if that person hates you and even if it wouldnt be well received, but you would be able to break the lie. Can't if your dead, though, and thats how it was "to the end". She never had a chance to.

Night Strike She was dishonest about her feelings to a person she liked, until that person died and she was unable to convey her true feelings. So, in the first half, she's denying that she felt anything for that person, but then realizing that's why she was unable to tell him how she felt, she comes clean and tells herself that she really did love him in the end.

T.T this song was so sweet. But it makes my eyes well up with tears even more hearing the meaning behind you doing this. I think this song is about a girl who had fallen in love with a boy, and even though he suspected it, when he asked her she said no to hide the way she really felt, because she was afraid he wouldn't feel the same. Instead of telling him the truth, she pushed him away, and now she regrets it and is telling him outrageous things hoping he'll catch on and know she was lying.

It's some expression in Japanese, "usohappyaku" which would literally translate to "eight hundred lies". I dunno, I just found it in the description of a pv of "eight hundred" which explained the song's odd title.

This song is so sad in the contradictoriness of it. The " And since the god up there I know does not exist/Not a single will come true and so dies every wish" really got me!Juby-san, you really captured the sadness of this song, and it was a beautiful tribute! The little "Ah!~" at the end was really cute to! NOW TO RANT! JUBY-CHAN YOU HAVE DONE WHY TOO MANY DEPRESSING SONS RECENTLY!!! (Not that I haven't enjoyed them...)
