LGU needs updating. Siargo needs a more savvy and proactive leadership. The island has too much potential.

1993 is not long. I remember cables being laid across Southampton water in, I think about 1961 and still working well, it had radioactive coating to keep see life from growing on it. Unfortunately the Philippines do everything on the cheap. Good to hear the Island is back on line, ish.

It's time for the local government of Surigao del Norte to resolve the power blackout issue of Siargao asap. It's now embarrassing for Siargao especially to its tourism reputation to fix its problems asap....

Local government politicians in Siargao are the most corrupt. Imagine the islands earned from tourism but even the roads aren't fixed.

Probably needs an alternative form of energy generation like solar, wave energy, waterfalls, etc.

Love the many family adventures you showed. We’re staying in Mabalacat near Clark for four more months. I was happy your wife and daughter found Clark and the AirBNB in Magalang to be very nice. Love your channel and the family interactions. Best wishes. Hoping they get the power resolved soon.

Of course the tourism development in Siargao has been faster than their actual infrastructure of the island. The electrical capacity is over whelmed.

You forget the fact that you can lay down another cable but if some devious group drags the cable the same cable via its anchor the same issue can occur. The patient of the PH people is strong and can withstands any faults. You need patience my friend. This is not the western country and the country has been stripped for so long and run by the same colonist mentality. It will take time for the PH will be great again.

Or, here me out, maybe maintenance? 😂. If there is any takeaway from this? 🇵🇭 Does not do any maintenance,on anything, jeeps, busses, power, internet scooters. Etc. Drive it til it breaks. Sad truth about a poorer country.

Just go solar! Get enough Lifepo4 batteries something around 30kWh for storage and powerful 12K inverter.

It always amazes me seeing people making silly statements about laying a new cable in this situation without any thought as to who is going to pay for it... The cost of laying a new cable, the ships, the cable, the people are extremely expensive. Where do you think that money comes from.

embarassing for ph. they've blame everyone and everything, including the chinese, now it's apparent that it's just utter negligence.

It's not a national issue, it's a domestic issue for the local government of Surigao del Norte if they won't resolve and fix this kind of issue in Siargao asap, it doesn't really reflected yet to the entire Philippines....

Those are speculations, no official statement blaming the Chinese. BUT so much for coincidence that when a Chinese ship were seen in siargao suddenly a black out. so..
