The green fruit in the ice you had is actually unripe mango preserved with salt and sugar. In mandarin it’s called Lover’s fruit, cuz love all taste sweet but sometimes sour. Love all of your videos about Taiwan. Can’t wait to see more!

@@EileenAldis The green stuff is candied fruit which was made of Taiwanese native species mango. You can compare the size of it "the green one" with other mango here health.udn.com/health/story/6037/3197507. It always got the strong sour taste no matter what the maturity it is in. And I guess it was not considered as an economic corp by the government decades ago, and it became popular roadside trees once and planted by county governments on two sides of roads.

Great video, all looks really good. Donuts look especially nice. Interesting to see the combinations of sweet and savory ingredients in desserts. Cilantro in the ice cream burrito seems strange, but seems it tasted good.

Thanks! Yeah, the sweet vs savoury is interesting. These desserts tend not to be overwhelmingly sweet which makes other flavours stand out more, I find.

you should try the street food that is fried chicken cutlet, and also the fried pick and match meat toss with chili and pepper, try that

Haha. Seems many desserts are of the frozen type, not sure if it's because it was hot when you went. But I like "wheel cakes" (車輪餅). Traditionally it has red bean filling, but I love the custard ones. There are several shops with even more modern takes on the dessert. For dessert I always bring boxes back to US is taro mochi flaky pastry...

Hi Eileen, do you know from your video, you just tried less 10% of desserts in Taiwan? We have a lot of others I've desserts. You can try pay pa ice in Keeping market, or, snow ice in somewhere, there are some traditional ice or desserts also very good, too

I want to go to ALL of these places 😊🤤😫 I'm so cabin fever, i miss travelling and I miss watching your adventures...rewatching some and getting excited about where shall we go next as our plans getting cancelled one at a time(so far Costa Rica Ronaniemi cancelled for 2021) Next should be South of France, Norway 🇳🇴, Japan 🇯🇵 and Mexico 🇲🇽 but right now here in London uk 🇬🇧 we are not even aload out anywhere ...I've heard a couple of days ago Canadian government is tightening the rules. Here is some local traditional sweets in Taiwan. It is in Mandarin. But you can recognize them by photos. oops.udn.com/oops/story/6703/1533894 Most these sweets can be found in night market or Taiwan traditional style bakery. Trying something new always is a good idea.

smelly toufu, watermelon fruit juice and papaya fruit juice. from 7-11, you can get all kinds of tea, like Taiwan tea and bubble tea. cold and hot. I like the green tea bubble and red tea bubble.

There’s Snow King! The honey ice cream sounds really tasty. Found that ice cream wrap pretty interesting. I (Greg) enjoyed it, but Jumi hates cilantro haha. Enjoyed this video and brought back good memories
