I am autistic and suffered a violent father, years of school bullies, aggression from my Mum's boyfriend, and years of disturbance from my drunken violent neighbour whose outbursts and destruction brought back memories of my Dad. I learned the power of forgiveness, and when I forgave them I let go of them mentally, and I found in turn that they let go of me.

I'm 60, I've been in therapy for 5 years now, and this, this opened my eyes. Sadly, I've been fighting the wrong battle and doing everything I could do, so I did not let go. I wrote songs, I made mental images, I did everything I could possibly think of doing, just so I would never let go, of the feeling. With the help from my doctors, I was able to stop the medication, to see if this would help me focus, I was so afraid of letting go because if I let go, she would be lost forever. I wish I would have let go, letting go was the problem, I was the problem. Today, is the 1st day of letting go! Thank you!

Respect to you for your hard work, sir. Your comment made me realize why I always envision my mom beating me on my birthday in front of all my friends ; if I stop and let it go - I THOUGHT it meant all my feelings were invalid. If I can let go of it my feelings weren’t that important then. No. BECAUSE my feelings are real and valid is WHY I need to let it go.

As a kid i got cancer. Realising there is no point in stressing out, i focussed on the things i could still do. To the point sitting in the garden, enjoying the sun and the company of my dog was all i had. Staying calm kept me strong in a way. In the eyes of my parents, being mentally able to keep calm was the thing what helped me through all the hard times. Me too like to see it that way, but i also believe a shitload of luck was needed ;)

I'm going through a heartbreak. The worst I've ever been through. Why? As a child, we are attached to our mother, then later we begin this attachment to a lover. Bottom line - it stems from childhood. I think Buddhism stresses not to be attached to anyone or anything. This is starting to make since. This was my lesson. Next time I will love and be sure to receive it. To love and keep my independence. To make sure what I give is reciprocated. They say love is blind....my eyes are wide open now. I will never be blinded with emotion again. Lesson learned.
@zain4019
@zain4019 4 жыл бұрын
Judi Lopez I disagree. Love itself is a beautiful feeling and connects us to a core part of ourselves. To fall in love is a wonderful experience and astonishing breathtaking parts of us can be revealed when we fall in love. Holding on to someone who has gone isn’t love, though. That’s need, hurt, fear. Our emotions tell us we may need to grieve, to love ourselves, to heal. The existence of pain isn’t a bad thing, it’s a sign we may need something we are not receiving, or to heal from a loss we may have gone through.

I kinda learned this naturally. I kept telling myself I had to escape my 9 to 5 job and worked all my free time away never achieving anything. Instead, I threw this mentality away, did my best at work and it became more enjoyable and I don't feel like I have to "escape" my job anymore. Now I can enjoy my free time and spend more time with my family. Maybe I will never be rich but my job provides us with all we have and that's enough.

After spending years studying western philosophy, the ancients of Rome and Greece, I achieved a lot in my philosophical practices, but never found that sensation of zen and tranquility that I was always looking for. I achieved a lot, but the quality wasn't the best and I found myself exhausting and stressing myself to write more, write better, improve myself in the gym, find better friendships and relationships, in a sense, I was running into nowhere. When I switched to Eastern philosophical ideals, started to let go, did not force but allowed things to happen as they please, trusted the natural order of things, my writing improved exponentially like a bomb going off, my gym habits were practically set in stone, I found myself connecting to people with good hearts rather than ambitious minds, and though the relationship aspect is null, I've discovered what I truly need in a person. Everything changed in my life for the better and I would 10/10 recommend eastern philosophy as a course of life rather than most aspects of western. Thanks for these uploads! It's teaching me a lot!

Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world As it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make things right If I surrender to His Will; So that I may be reasonably happy in this life And supremely happy with Him Forever and ever in the next. Amen."

I've learned a long time ago about letting go. It is always a pleasant surprise when you let go and receive what you want but even if it never materializes it is still the same. Then she hooked up with my friend in front of me and it just occurred to me "oh, she's just gonna be like that." I initially was very angry, then I realized it was just her nature, and I finally let go after 4 years. I literally met my wife the next day. Crazy how you practise these principles even without KNOWING IT. I personally am the kind of person who feels the need to control everything inorder to get the best results and protect me and my loved ones. But too much of it, ruined my peace of mind. I wasnt getting results, and i just seemed to drain my own energy. Thats when i got so tired, i let go. I was gradually following this principle even without knowing it. I've been holding on to a very hurtful situation for over 3 months now, I believed that letting go would hurt more than what I was going through while holding on. It hasn't even been 3 days since I decided to let go wholeheartedly and suddenly, I started receiving money I'd been waiting for. Opportunities that I thought were not meant to happen suddenly came chasing after me. Letting go is life-changing! It's just the courage to let go that we lack to our great detriment.

Great video! I love the concept of letting go and embracing the natural flow of life. Taoism is such a beautiful philosophy that reminds us to stop fighting against the current and instead, learn to move with it. As Lao Tzu said, "Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished." Letting go can be tough, but it can also be incredibly liberating. Here's to embracing the flow and letting go of what no longer serves us!

The more important and financially off your are, the more others depend on you. More expectations to fulfill, more personal desires, and more fake people trying to get that power and resources from you. In the end when you achieve you dreams in terms of abundance and material, you realize that all that stuff rests on a gaping hole that you have no genuine person to share with. It becomes useless and lifeless, and that in itself will cause depression, drinking, and drug abuse. I suspect this is why it is so persistent in the "well off" world. Because chasing that approval from others by overachieving in the end does not bring it, and even if it does you're getting nothing out of that approval other than "redemption" you created in your head that was cause by jealousy and rage. Maybe becoming successful by doing what you love without expecting wealth is the key to abundant happiness. Chasing abundance with brute force by tolerating hardship of wasting you life doing what you hate usually results in bad things.

Once she did come back one day I found us on two separate pages of life, no longer in synchronicity, and I stepped away from her. This was the girl next door, my first true love. It’s not as glamorous as it may seem. People grow apart though. In doing so we free ourselves. Hope this may help someone that feels empty because of a loss like this. Happiness comes from within.

It all only makes sense, we cannot force what we cannot control. I’m starting to understand that now after going through a lot in my life. Once you ‘let go’ all that is natural sets in. Life finally gives you peace like the branches that are blocked by the wall, it grows around it and not forcefully through it. It took me a very long time to grasp such a simple yet understandable concept of ‘flow’. For me now that soon I am going to move away somewhere I can finally transition into what I was meant to become like the branches that grow around the wall rather than through it. I can finally be at peace with myself and start to love myself. ✌🏼 ☮️

"𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐨." - 𝐑𝐮𝐦𝐢 Balance is the crux of life. Everything in life is in perfect balance and harmony. The night balances the day, the good balances the bad and so on. Even in atoms that are the very building blocks of the physical universe, there exists a positive charge (protons) that is balanced by the negative charge (electrons). In this quote, Rumi is right in saying that life is a balance between letting go and holding on. There is a time to hold on and then there comes a time to let go and release. The very act of releasing is powerful - it leads to healing, it helps recharge your energy and put things into perspective. In-fact, most of the times these things happen naturally. When you become tired of holding on, you naturally have a tendency to let go. When you let go, all that energy that got drained from you while holding on starts to replenish. You start to feel renewed to the point where you get encouraged to take action again. In this way, letting go helps you gain clarity so you can pursue things that really matter. So do not feel guilty to let go for that is inevitable and for the greater good. PS: Letting go is NOT the same as giving up.

partially agree, think you have to be aware of your weaknesses and either let them go, or passively upgrade them (so that YOU can concentrate back on your strengths) without making a big song and dance about it.

I'm here to find strength to face a situation in my life that's out of my control, but that could actually turn my upside down to the worst when it will happen and i cannot stop panicking/mourning the life I'm going to lose. I hope i face with grace and dignity whatever comes to pass.

Also, I love how in quarantine we are basically forced to "practice" Taoism and Buddhism and we act like it's a bad thing. It just goes to show how desperate we are to always run away and never keep still and silent.
