Hi Guys. Happy New Year. I am looking forward to your video's. Just had my new frig and freezer delivered this morning so am hoping to order and receive my first EIS Alaska caught fish soon. Was that a ling cod i saw come over the rail ? One of my favorites. Will you be fishing tanner crabs soon ? Wishing you the best on the upcoming tanner season. Many blessings to EiS Alaska in 2025. Happy New Year, Kenneth! We are excited for the new season! Hopefully get rockfish and cod back in stock late winter, sometime after crab is finished. Yes, tanner crab season starts Jan 15! We’re getting the boat all rigged.

About 5 years ago we had a big star fish die off in Puget Sound Did that happen up there as well?

I did! All down the coast we read, wasting disease took out an estimated 90% of the seastar population. They seem to have come back now. 😂

They are unpretentious, honest, and real and that really does make the best video I’m waiting for rockfish season I visited my son in the Portland area and we went out fishing for lingcod and I brought back a bunch of rockfish. It’s now my favorite fish. Can’t wait to buy some from you guys

I've always meant to ask; how do you determine spacing on your hooks? Do you use a 5 count (for example) or is it not something you really worry about, and you just use a rhythm to set them?

Good question! Lots of it is just rhythm, by the time I have the next one in hand its almost time to snap it on. Sometimes I’ll gauge it by the time the hook or snap touches water. Overall i don’t worry about it too much. Happy New Year!
